I used to think that Redbook was only for "older ladies" and that it couldn't possibly be cool. But it really is! It is not for *much* younger women, though. For example, there are no sex tips (um, we already know them at this age, thanks) and thankfully, there is no talk about how to get a man either, or how to look hot in your favorite body-con dress. My favorite pages are the ones where they show all kinds of good buys under $100, and the ones where they take one clothing item and show how to style it several different ways. The articles are smart and relevant to the 30+ crowd.

I was previously subscribing to Marie Claire and Cosmo but was finding that the fashion in Marie Claire was not geared to me (it's way too expensive) and I grew out of Cosmo long long ago. I had never even seen a copy of this magazine before subscribing but decided to go for it since it says it is geared towards today's young married women (and that's me!). I think this description is right on for what you get with this magazine.

One thing I like about this magazine is that the fashion is affordable. Most of the clothes and accessories are very affordable (usually no more than about $100) and are found at retailers I actually shop at (eg. Target, stores found at every mall). I also really like that the content is geared towards women who are married or in long term relationships - it is more about how to improve your relationship than how to go on dates, or how to find the guy that is right for you. Overall I find the amount of content a bit light in this magazine, but what's in there is relevant.

I had no problems with my subscription - I think my first issue came within about a month. I enjoy this magazine and would recommend to any young married women who are looking for something that is more relevant to their current life.

Good magazine but please stop with the celebrity cover stories

The main thing I don't like about Redbook is that each month the cover story is about an actor or actress. It's always the same type of interview - they are almost interchangeable. We hear some some TV or movie star talk about how they are just a "normal" person, struggling to make dinner and take care of their children. Then there's usually the part about how their spouse is the love of their life and how they balance work and marriage. Then don't forget the part about how he or she has now FINALLY found peace and happiness in their life. If I had a dollar for every one of these celebrity relationships that has ended, many in nasty breakups, I would be rich. And does anyone really believe that their lives are normal? I really, really wished Redbook would switch up their cover stories. How about covering an issue? Or maybe just a recipe on the cover? But, all in all I like Redbook for it's low cost and it keeps me in "the know" about fashion.

I got this on an awesome bargain, thinking well, it will be some good reading and probably have some recipes, etc, but this magazine has totally revamped and it's really actually GOOD! It's more like Glamour or something than ladies home journal, which is what I associate it with. Totally for younger, hipper people.I think they're going for younger 30's moms. In any case, I highly recommend. LOVE IT.

I paid for the magazine subscription in October and I waited eagerly for my first issue, which was promised to me in an invoice in 4-6 weeks (I ordered around October 16-18th): "Greetings from Amazon.com.

We thought you'd like to know that your magazine order has been processed by our magazine subscription provider.

The first issue of the subscription should take up to 4_to_6_weeks to arrive from the date you placed your order. For current subscribers, subscriptions will be extended."

Instead, I received a post card, which I almost tossed without reading, because I thought it was an advertisement, telling me my subscription will start in February!

That is pretty much twice the promised start date of this subscription. I was looking forward to receiving my subscription in late November - mid-December as promised, and I am perplexed as to how every other subscription I have can send the first magazine (most recently Marie Claire) in under 4 weeks, but not Redbook? Makes me wonder if I will regret receiving this magazine and I should have ordered More or something else completely.

If you enjoy reading magazines, and you are not that familiar or are not already receiving this magazine as a subscription, I suggest skipping this one. I am not particularly amused with paying for something and wondering if I am actually going to receive it.
