Everyone has emotional baggage, some more so than others and Ms. Myles is able to include those scars into beautifully written stories of growth and blossoming soul-deep love.
Elle and Nicholas develop an almost immediately intense connection, and thanks to Elle's ability both are able to overcome their damage and fears and eventually accept and grow in their love.
Maggie and Paul travel a painful path of fear and devastating loss on their way to finding lasting love while acknowledging and growing despite their emotional scars.
Annabelle and Alex are fighting the odds from day one. Both are harboring painful scars and fears that would stop most of us in our tracks, but a strong desire for something better and perseverance are their guiding forces, to reaching the promise of love so deep that it makes them stronger and heals their damaged souls.
I read all four books in the Heart series, one after the other and will definitely revisit them. I cannot recommend this series highly enough for those who love a good story, with interesting twists and turns that reflect real life in all its gritty, raw splendor.
I voluntarily reviewed this series after receiving copies from the author.
Drawing from the Heart: 5 stars: Awesome contemporary & emotional romance. This is the second book in the Heart Series. Maggie loves the idea of being in love. When she's interested in someone she jumps in but she's up getting burned over and over. Paul works at the same horse training business. So you know the characters from each of this set of books overlap. He has cared for Maggie for a long time so he takes the chance. The story takes readers of an emotional journey the two main characters take. The author did an excellent job engaging the reader. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this author.
Feeding the Heart: 5 stars; Outstanding contemporary, wealthy romance. Annabelle has suffered almost her entire life from anorexia nervosa. Alex is friends with Annabelle's older brother. Annabelle has been working to do the program her psychiatrist has set yet she's struggling more now. Alex is into auto racing while Annabelle enjoys designing homes but is taking architectural design in college. This has to be a difficult topic for an author to write about. The author drew this reader in by stirring intense emotions. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this of in the future.
I truly enjoyed all 3 of these books. The stories flowed and came alive. There was no “love at first sight” here. No rushing into anything! In fact, it was the complete opposite. The stories moved along at great pace, emotions were STRONG in all 3 books! I felt the pain and the tears. The characters were full of human flaws which made them all that more real.
If you enjoy great stories then I suggest you read the Heart Series. The biggest fault I found within these stories is details. It is hard to picture what they looked like. Sure, brown eyes that melt like caramel and a chiseled chest with wash board abs is really good but other details were lacking. I still enjoyed the books and I still recommend them.
