The Heart of Gold is an inspirational book about choices young Indian men and women face in today’s modern world as they try to balance well-established family traditions with more liberal ideologies. How much they are influenced by their parents versus western cultures molds their way of thinking and how they relate to other people in their lives. What I like about the book is that the actions of the characters in the story are controversial and compel readers to think about what they would do in a similar situation. My only criticism of the book is that (by American standards) it lacked customary editing.
