About the authors

Connirae Andreas, PhD is an international leader in the field of personal development of more than four decades. She is best known for her groundbreaking work developing Core Transformation, a method through which our limitations become the doorway to a felt experience many describe “love” “peace” “presence” or “oneness.” Through the steps of the process, this felt experience offers a profound healing resolving many limiting emotions and behaviors. Connirae’s new Wholeness Work offers a precise way to experience “dissolving the ego” in a way that resolves our life issues and goes even further in a gentle yet systematic process of evolving or awakening. Her work is strongly influenced by her personal experience with the late Dr. Milton H. Erickson, and has been translated into over 15 languages.
Connirae is the author or co-author of many books and Trainer manuals in personal development and transformation, including Heart of the Mind, Change Your Mind—and Keep the Change (co-authored with husband Steve Andreas), and Core Transformation: reaching the Wellspring Within (co-authored with Tamara Andreas), and Coming to Wholeness: how to Awaken and Live with Ease. To support quality trainings becoming more widely available, she has developed in-depth Trainer Materials for key trainings, including Core Transformation and the new Wholeness Work. Before her work developing Core Transformation and Wholeness Work, Connirae was a developer in the field of NLP, her work including innovations in language patterns and conversational change, contributions to positive parenting methods, to natural self-healing, and (with Steve Andreas) developing effective change protocols for resolving grief, for tapping into how we unconsciously code the experience of time, and more. The Andreases authored manuals for teaching in-depth Practitioner and Master Practitioner NLP programs oriented towards coaching and personal transformation.
Connirae lives in Boulder, Colorado, and enjoys visits with her grandchildren.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2011...And I've ready many, including other NLP books. I found this to be chock-full of fascinating and useful ideas, and kept on flagging pages I wanted to share with friends as I went along - it would also be such a good introduction to the wonders of NLP (and one's own brain!). By the end of the book, I'd identified -many- techniques that I wanted to try for myself, for a variety of issues. (So too did the stuff to show friends mount up - clearly they need access to the whole book as much as I do!) The most exciting was changing my whole timeline construction, which immediately led to an overall improvement in my mood and approach to life (and now I'll work through others one by one). I'm very impressed with the authors' native resourcefulness in finding ways to accommodate each person's unique "complications" and individual parameters, and the many examples from their client and teaching work are -highly- instructive. ...So that, while you can dip into the book according to chapter topic (types of things to change, essentially), reading through to the end gives much greater insight into how you might go about doing -any- of the suggested techniques (with yourself or as an aide to others). Our minds are so amazingly flexible! - and it's a huge blessing to find a book that makes it easy to readily make critical, life-changing adjustments to our subconscious patterning. It all makes sense, once you realize that we code our experiences in pictures, sounds, smells/tastes, "feels", and not just words and emotions.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2012When I purchased a Kindle, I thought I would be able to download all the NLP books from the original authors. I was disappointed by the fact that almost none of them where available for the Kindle device. The Heart of Mind is a good exception. The important thing about this book is that it is the outcome of what the authors (the Andreas) did in practice. It happens the natural way: first they model a problem (e.g. allergy), then they test it in practice. Only then, they write the book. It's different from going to a seminar, reading a lot of other books to end up writing a lot of nonsense. The Heart of Mind, from the Andreas, is made up of a simple set of effective methods to solve important everyday problems. It's not only a good reading. It's a manual
- Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2024I like the size, its normalcy, and the presentation. Remember to decide if you want a paperback or a hardcover.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2014Steve and Connirae Andreas are probably the best non-fiction writers I've ever read. You should read the book, if for no other reason, than for a lesson in what good communication looks like when printed. Additionally, and more to the point, the things they communicate are brilliant. This is in my top ten "make your life better" books. You really need to read it.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2023Don't be mistaken bu the antiquity of this book. It's packed with amazing, step by step tecniques, well explained, accompanied by various examples. And if that's not enough - the book contains so many techniques for so many difficulties -descision making, parts work, loaing weight and so much more.
Can't recommend highly enough.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2012If you're interested in NLP, this should be one of the first books you get. It's informative and resourceful and there will be something you can get a handle on right off the bat, even though there will be some things you might wonder about. I tried the Automatic Healing Pattern and ended up pulling in the Decision Destroyer and Trauma Pattern and was very pleased with the results!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2012Outstanding insight to utilizing NLP. If you're a student of NLP or looking to for a place to begin, this is a great source. The authors break it down to the simplest forms of understanding and provide outlines on attaining the desired outcomes. If you're a visual person and then the descriptions provided in the outlines is definitely a "highlighter" for you!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 29, 2020I'm interested more in body-oriented psychology. But did enjoy the ease of how the book is written and learned some valuable information. Thanks!

Robbie Spier MillerReviewed in Canada on May 17, 20145.0 out of 5 stars Elegant Guide To How To Use NLP Techniques For Real Change
This book is easy to read and understand. A great NLP learning resource for beginners and professionals alike. Steve & Connirae Andreas have chosen the most common themes that we struggle with in our lives, and mapped out how to use NLP techniques to resolve them by using stories from their own clients. Because the NLP techniques are illustrated through real people making change, it also makes it easier for people to loosen up from the cookbook style of NLP, and have enough confidence in knowing the techniques that they feel freer to respond the the client. I work with clients professionally with hypnosis and NLP, and I am an NLP trainer. This is one of the very small handful of books I keep on hand for my clients and students. A true gem.
