The story begins with two people who have no idea who each other is coming together and liking each other really well. But through an accident with the press they are captured fooling around and are sort of pushed into getting married. Anyway it turns out that the princess's husband died unexpectedly and his heart was given to our hero. This causes some problems for the princess and our hero but ultimately (and without giving away too much of the plot) they fall evermore deeply in love... Sounds a little sappy, but it was good in a way that not too many books are.
This was a clean romance, so it can be suggested for all ages -teens through adults. If you're like me, reading something that draws your attention, well, books like that are hard to come by, and I read a LOT. So you can imagine my pleasure at finding this book. It had just enough romance without being graphic, and enough royalty to make it subtly entrancing. Cheers!
*I was given a preview copy of this book . My opinions are my own and honest.
The romance is sweet, the imperfections endearing and the secrets gut wrenching, yet the overarching sense that Someone is at work on the lives of our new Royals wraps the reader in a sense of peace even in the midst of chaos.
Do we want to hear more from Carol Moncado?
If you haven't read “Dare You,” the prequel to this new series, you might want to do that first, but it's not absolutely necessary.
I enjoyed the steady pace as Astrid slowly opens her heart to love. Great family connections and support. Moncado has created a unique, storybook universe. I love her royal romances.
