For as long as I can remember, I've always been a fan of Roadrunner records. I frequently visit their website, and when I saw this album listed under the artists section, I couldn't have been more thrilled. The guys at Roadrunner put a great collection of songs together, new and old, for a great compilation cd. You get some classics, as well as some newer, unreleased gems. It's cds like these that help expose many people to new bands that they may have never had a chance to be exposed to. You get a little something great from all of the metal genres to see what fulfills your musical tastes. The price of this is another thing to praise. For a 20 song cd, the price is not bad at all. If you want a way to hear some great songs by some great bands, pick up this release.

When Roadrunner Records first started out, there were a handfull of bands that kept the label rolling, and while this compilation has a few good moments, it misses the mark for the most part. Sure, Slipknot helped catapault Roadrunner to superstar record label status, but they don't belong on here, and neither does lead singer Corey Taylor's Stone Sour band either. Of all the Sepultura songs that could be included on here, they picked "Roots Bloody Roots", which was the band's only real hit. Anything from "Beneath the Remains", "Arise", or "Chaos A.D." would have been a better selection. Coal Chamber and Killswitch Engage helped find the label success as well, but they don't belong on here either, and neither does Max Cavalera's Soulfly. Not to mention that material from Fear Factory and Type O Negative should have been from their debut albums, instead of the more recent hits. Thankfully, someone remembered the band's that made Roadrunner a force to be reckoned with at one time: Deicide, King Diamond, Life of Agony, Obituary, and Nailbomb; but where is Mercyful Fate, Death, and Biohazard? Who knows, but for everything this compilation does wrong, it does a lot right. Thankfully they decided not to include any tracks from Nickelback.

I love this cd! I got it the day it came out, and have not been disappointed at all. The fact that it has such a great selection... old-school bands like Life of Agony, Sepultura, and Fear Factory, which are bands that even in today's music scene could surely hold their own! It has new and un-released stuff from Glassjaw, Stone Sour, KSE! I think the fact that they started the album off with "Roots, Bloody Roots" by Sepultura was a great idea, it gets your heart pumping right from the
get-go! I wish more compilations like this were made... I wonder if there will be a volume 2 of this album?

This collection of songs from Roadrunner Records is the best collection I have heard in a long long time. I have grown up listening to this great label and all it's bands. Every track on here from the older stuff like Life Of Agony,Obituary,Sepultura to the newer stuff from Stone Sour,Murderdolls,Killswitch Engage, rock! I highly recommend this CD to anyone who is just getting into metal or looking to hear some new music. If you already have enjoyed the years of great music from Roadrunner Records, you will enjoy to have all these great tracks on one CD. Priced reasonably, so get it now!

This truely is The Roots and Future of Metal. Road Runner knows metal and they put together an awesome compilation. Many of my favorite bands have tracks on this CD. If you can't get enough metal then you will love this CD. Trust me. I promise it will be one of the best CD's to come out this year. With bands like Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Fear Factory, Spineshank, Stone Sour, iLL nino, Machine Head, Chimaira, and many more you know it will be one badass CD. I really like the CD and I think that you will too.

A metal compilation this good has not been released in a [very] long time, and this compilation brings back fond memories for me of the good ole days of Roadrunner Records.
1. Sepultura - Roots Bloody Roots
2. Slipknot - Spit It Out (Stamp You Out Mix)
3. Killswitch Engage - In the Unblind: A great song off of KSE's Ferret Records debut.
4. Fear Factory - Replica: Fear Factory are my personal metal gods.
5. Spineshank - Height of Callousness
6. Life of Agony - Through and Through: A great song from a band I hope fully reunites soon.
7. Stone Sour - Rules of Evidence
8. Coal Chamber - Loco
9. Soulfly - Possibility of Life's Destruction: My god, it feels so good to hear Max just go insane on a thrash song again.
10. Brujeria - Brujerizmo
11. Type O Negative - Christian Woman
12. Ill Nino - Unreal (Reborn Mix)
13. Glassjaw - Modern Love Story: This is probably the song I wanted to hear most off this comp.
14. Obituary - The End Complete
15. King Diamond - Abigail: All hail the King.
16. Nailbomb - Wasting Away
17. Murderdolls - Crash Crash: If you haven't heard the Murderdolls yet, punch yourself in the face.
18. Deicide - Dead By Dawn: Death metal at it's finest
19. Machine Head - Negative Creep: Machine Head covering Nirvana? Sign me up.
20. Chimaira - Fascination Street: Another great cover, Chimaira covering the Cure, in an unexpectedly great cover.
So 20 great songs, ... BUY IT NOW!!!
