The story is rhyming fashion and is fast moving. It resolves with the children sponsoring two kids in Sudan.
It is a quick and fun read. My daughter is 2.5 and loves it, "reads" it to herself a lot and has us read it to her. The story is fun, the illustrations are great.
Provides an incredibly opportunity to talk to your kids about things like poverty. It includes tips on how to address things like hunger and lack of education with young kids. For our daughter we were able to talk about the kids we sponsor and we tell her we help them so they can eat, have medicine and go to school. In the story she saw them draw pictures and send them to the sponsor children; we do the same.
It is not a guilt inducing story, but an empowering one, showing your kids (and you!) that you can have an impact in the world, that you can change a person's life.
Cant recommend enough.
