Love me to Death by Maggie Shayne was also a great read. The story is more of a mystery/love story. I didn't want to put it down. It was a story about a ghost, mistakes we do as teenagers and a haunting past. Maggie sucks you in and I didn't want to let go. The ending was shocking. Loved it!!
Lady of the Nile by Susan Krinard was not my cup of tea. I found the story line a bit to far fetched. I just couldn't buy into the reincarnation stories of the two charters. I stoped reading after chapter three, I just couldn't get into it.
Shayne's story Love me to Death was just OK. Maybe a 3-star. It wasn't bad, it wasn't good, but it would be a decent way to pass the time in a doctor's office waiting for your appointment. The 22-year age difference between the characters...a bit odd.
The really odd Egyptian story Lady of the Nile by Krinard? Just plain bad. The story made NO sense, it was hard to follow, and the characters were out there. I could care less if they made it. The only reason I finished it was because it was short. This deserves maybe a 1 star. And that's generous.
Love Me to Death was a good story, well written and kept you interested. I would rate this story at 3 stars.
However, as I got to reading the third story (Lady of the Nile) I couldn't really wait to be done with the book, I came very close to not even finishing the story. It was confusing, and not very well written. I'm sure you don't have to ask what rating I would give this one! (sorry)
My personal opinion is authors like Gena Showalter need to be kept with writers of the same level (at the very least) and somewhere, someone needs to be honest and speak up when the story doesn't make much sense. Preferably, before the story is published. Save the poor writer (and readers) some bad reviews!
