The stories were spread throughout the world, had amazing men with delightful everyday careers, and many lived adventures lives. Each of these characters was opposites from their intended partners and the passion that they found was breathtaking!
The anthology starts with Ryder, an App developer who is working late when he is distracted by a handsome window washer, Bailey. Their story is split in two and you must read the other stories before finishing their story, believe me it is worth the wait. I will give just a brief description of each other the stories because they are short and must be read to fully enjoy then. I will say this, there was NOT one story that I did not like or would rate lower than 4 stars. At the end of each story we get a cute little surprise that just adds to the magnitude of the collection as a whole. This is part of the common thread!
The Professional Gamer and the Paranormal Photographer by Alison Hendricks: This is the story of Lawrence a professional gamer and Allen a ghost photographer. They start in an awkward date but soon find common ground and have an incredible story. This story was filled with funny moments, great world building, passion and steam. (8 chapters) 5 stars.
The Magician and the Mortician by A.E. Wasp: This is the story of Bento and Mikey. Bento is older and had lost a bit of faith in love and life after losing a love 5 years ago. Mikey had a crush on him 10 years ago and when he finds himself on a date, passion follows. Mikey restores Bento. This was a sweet story of redemption and a second chance at love. (7 chapters + Epilogue) 5 stars.
The Assassin and the Dog Walker by Charlie Cochet: This is the story of Lymond an assassin and Daniel a cheery younger dog walker. I loved this story as they were complete opposites, yet had a great amount of passion for each other. I loved the stoutness of this story and how the characters were with each other. (8 chapters) 5 stars.
The Criminal and the Sommelier by Chris Owen: Angelo and Phillip were a unique couple that completely worked. I felt that Angelo was a bit snooty and I loved that Phillip matched him each and every time. (This was a short story with no defined chapters) 4 stars.
The Superhero and the NSA Agent by Hailey Turner: This was a fun story of Shane and Damian. These were two different characters and how they fell together was fantastic. They were made for each other. Steamy and a fun plot made this story great. (5 chapters) 4 stars.
The Tattoo Artist and the Writer by Lily Morton: Best friends to lovers’ story!! I LOVED this story. It was so amazingly written and the characters had intense passion. Noah and Sage were perfect for each together and their unrequited love was set free all because of a dating app! (5 chapters) 5 stars.
The Uber Driver and the Phone Sex Operation by Lucy Lennox: This is the story of Travis and deaf Uber driver and Azrael a phone sex operation. This story starts out hot and steamy and even a bit dirty. It was all about the heat. My favorite quote: “A dirty mouthed perv with a pure heart and the face of an angel.” (11 chapters + epilogue) 4 stars.
The Baker and the Seal by May Archer: Short and sweet filled with surgery goodness. Cal and Ash were fun together. This was the sweetest of the stories and left me with a toothache. The ending was excellent. (4 chapters + epilogue) 5 stars.
The Event Planner and the Electrician by Poppy Dennison: I really want to make a joke about how Theo and Harvey sparked in this story! I loved Theo he was so sassy, passionate, and funny. Harvey was gruff and maybe a bit jilted; they were perfect for each other. This was the story that I laughed at the most. It was just plan great. (10 chapters) 5 stars.
The Lawyer and the Lobsterman by Ruthie Luhnow: Talk about complete opposites! Issac and Will are the definition of the word. Complete opposites meet and turn to passion and heat! Short and Sweet but filled with Heat! (No defined chapters) 4 stars.
The Florist and the Lawyer by Sloane Kennedy: This was a story of miscommunication but filled with desire and hunger. I loved that this story was structured a bit differently than the others. Harrison was an older man who found passion and lust with Nate a younger twink. I liked how the story developed and turned out. (5 chapters + epilogue) 4 stars.
After all of these wonderful stories we meet Bailey and Ryder again and get to finish their story, though it is quick and filled with passion it was the perfect ending to what began it all. The final anthology epilogue was the ultimate perfection and carried the story to its end. That common thread was wrapped up.
Whether you have read these authors before or some are new to you, as a reader you will not be disappointed. I loved that I could read one story while waiting for an appointment or read a few at a time. I never lost the excitement or the joy that these stories invoked in me. I would highly recommend this anthology for anyone who wants to discover new authors, wants a collection of amazing stories, needs some feel good love, or just wants to support an amazing and wonderful cause. All profits of this anthology are going to LGBTQ Charites and will help support their missions. I received an ARC and am leaving an honest review but I also bought myself a copy because I wanted to show my appreciation to both the authors and the charities.
STORIES LIKE THIS ONE ARE WHY I LOVE FRIENDS TO LOVERS STORIES! This short tale packed so much in a short number of pages.
-A sprinkle of angst
-And a sweet ending.
Cal and Ash meet and each one finds himself wanting to get to know the other better. The attraction is immediate and there's some light flirting. But due to an error in identification the two part with mixed feelings.
Read in order to find out what will happen when Cal meets Ash where he least expect him to be.
I guaranty you'll love it.
Also this anthology has 10 more lovely stories by extremely talented authors.
I definitely recommend you read this book and it's for charity so you'll be donating by purchasing it!
May Archer, Charlie Cochet Poppy Dennison Alison Hendricks Sloane Kennedy Lucy Lennox Ruthie Luhnow Lily Morton Chris Owen Hailey Turner A.E. Wasp.
Look at these authors, like a Who's Who of MM .
Lily Morton provided an ARC but I also purchased a copy. Lily has become a 1 click buy for me, and she never disappoints
The Tattoo Artists and The Writer is her story in toss amazing collecting. Noah and Sage have been best friends since they were boys, and in love for what seems like forever but it took a dating App with crossed wires that matched up the most unlikely couples to make them see what was always there. Romantic, great dialogue ( I love all of Lilly's words), and man can she write sexy times
Opposites attract so maybe , Heart2Heart knew something we don't realize, that looking for love in three same ole way doesn't always work. Each of these stories were so different yet at the heart of all of them was the same message, don't give up,and, listen to your heart.
