French romantic comedy starring Romain Duris and Vanessa Paradis. Alex (Duris) is the original ladykiller: handsome, charming, funny and effortlessly cool. Capitalising on these assets, Alex has set up an unusual professional service: for a fee he promises to break up any unwanted relationship, converting any husband, fiance or boyfriend into an 'ex' within a specified time period. When he is hired by the father of beautiful heiress Juliette (Paradis) to get rid of her unsuitable fiance, Jonathan (Andrew Lincoln), he finds himself on a romantic mission impossible as he sets out to woo her away from her lover in just ten days. But love is an unpredictable force, and Alex soon risks becoming hoist by his own petard.

I genuinely resent each and every one of you who rated it highly for making me waste 104 minutes of my life on this steaming pile.
The whole point of the film is this guy Alex Lippi (Romain Duris) who breaks up bad relationships. So, he finds this couple (Vanessa Paradis, Andrew Lincoln) that are about to get married 10 days and he turns out to be the bodyguard for Juliette (Vanessa Paradis) and they start to like each other before Alex breaks them up!
This is a really good movie I mean REALLY, REALLY good movie for everyone but it's not rated when it should be rated PG-13 for langauge but the langauge is in the subtitles but the langauge is not strong!
When will IFC pictures put "Heartbreaker" on bluray in America?
Vanessa Paradis's family think that her English fiance is not right for her. Oh, he's rich and not bad looking. It's just that he's also very boring.
If you've ever seen Frank Capra's It Happened One Night starring Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert, you know how this film ends. This film mostly takes place in beautiful Monaco rather than in rundown trailer camps.
Still, I recommend this film as being funny.
Even if you don't speak French, this is a cute movie.
The unexpected within the expected. Absolutely worth owning, sharing, and watching again, and again
to lift yourself out of one of those days. It's a perfect example of the French style lifting way above the
usual Hollywood fare. A great gift for movie lovers film libraries. Vanessa Paradis and Romain Duris,
and the supporting cast, are all special in their own right and combine for the perfect "je ne sais q'uois"
we all look for in films, especially the light ones. So good I ordered the other DVD's available from
the director but they just came so haven't had time to watch yet. If you haven't seen Paradis in
The Girl On The Bridge order that at the same time, you'll want more of her and it's a real classic.

But Vanessa Paradis? Did I miss something? Someone that rich would surely get their teeth done. It was a major distraction and I could not to be honest imagine anyone wishing to kiss someone with teeth like that, although I know that is a little critical of me. Don't let it put you off the film though. It's really good and of course it's in French because it's a French film; so don't be put off by reviews that claim not to like it because it is in French. Look at the details before you buy! ( Having said that I ordered "A cat in Paris" thinking it was French and subtitled but I ended up with the dubbed version which is not as good but of course it's still a great film. So we all can make mistakes.
The "heartbreaker" made for a pleasant evenings viewing all in all; hence the 4 stars. ( It nearly but not quite merits 5 though I agree that "Priceless" is a better film if you have to choose between two of the same genre.
It tells the tale of a smarmy , Casanova who breaks women up for a living , with little morals himself he gets women to fall in love with them , justifying he is doing it because they are in the wrong relationships .
However when he gets Vanessa paradis as a client things change . He learns wham songs , dirty dancing routines but she seems immune , but is she and is he to real love .
Andrew Lincoln plays the boyfriend , excellent as ysl and although its mostly subtitle doubt let that put you off . It's well timed , witty move with perfect balance of comedy , romance and feel good factor .
Romain Duris stars as the lead in a professional 'heart breaker' team that persuades unsure women to leave their current partners. All is going well until one job, when he has to convince head-strong rich girl Juliette (played by Paradis).
