A moment of quiet was all Theran was looking for. He was not looking to be nearly decimated when he stumbled across a sorcerer near the pack’s hunting grounds. Same objections as the last 2 books. I wanted more time for the characters to get to know each other and more emphasis on the relationship/romance. In a lot of respects this is more insta-love than slow burn. I DO like that the author made sure the MC’s didn’t pressure each other into rushing into sex even though they were fated mates.

This is really more of an action series with romance in it (which is really cool) as opposed to a Romance novel with some action scenes in it. Two very different things.

This was probably a 3.5 out of 5 stars but I bumped up a little bc one of the main characters was asexual which was an interesting plot twist.

That said I don’t know if the character was completely asexual given that he did experience pleasure with his fated mate. So I don’t know if an asexual person would take umbrage with this authors use of a sexuality.

Not being asexual I’m not sure and like everything isn’t it a spectrum?🤷‍♂️

This was such a fun and action packed read. Colby was awesome and very powerful as a sorcerer, and his mate was a wolf shifter, Theran. Their relationship was adorable and even humorous at times. I loved the magic and most of all I loved the feeling of family and love. Totally riveting story.

This is one of those series that I get more emotionally invested in with each book. It also seems like each fated mated pair gets just a little bit more complicated. There was absolutely no way that having Theran and Colby be destined made sense. Colby was on a mission to find out more about the Chevalier Pack, he had no idea that he would find out more about them than he bargained for.

Theran was more than ready to find his true mate, but even so, he was kind of shocked to find out who it was. Regardless, once they figured it out there was no denying it and no turning back. Because of the threat to the Chevalier Pack, Colby’s main concern was protecting Theran, which didn’t go over too well with the rest of the pack.

There are still a few pack members who need to find their mate, along with at least one mated pair that is complicated? I can’t wait to see how Kay Doherty finds a way to finally get them together. Danger, mystery and plenty of heat… everything I love in a shifter series.

Kay Doherty continues to up the game in the latest installment of the Chevalier Pack. Her characters continue to pull you along on a twisting road of paranormal romance and adventure. Their attempts to unravel the adopted mystery their namesake as they carve out a safe home only propels this installment to its nail biter of an ending.
