From the Author
Here's a sneak peek:
I once asked my mother whatfirst attracted her to my father. She said it was his eyes--the kindness in hiseyes. To understand Moon's eyes you need to see the complete package.
His mind is sharp; he easily reads people. He reads me like he sees inside mymind and plucks out my thoughts.
His skin is smoke; it's the only way to describe it now that I've had some timeto look at him. If I knew nothing about him and saw him on the street, I wouldthink Hawaiian or Samoan.
He's exotic and his eyes grab you. Blue eyes have never been my thing. And theword "kind" can't be used in conjunction with Moon's eyes. They'reintense--treacherous--deadly. Then sometimes, when he looks at me, they gosteamy hot. The kind of hot that says I want to lick you from the bottom to thetop and then eat you slowly. So slowly, you won't stop screaming until you'recompletely undone.
I'm an ex-cop and will always have a cop's heart.
Moon's a criminal and controls a criminal empire. I want him and it's playinghavoc with my soul.

Madison Abigail Kinlock (MAK) has been a PI for two years following an off duty injury that ended her Phoenix PD career. She is working a cheating spouse case when she's knocked unconscious and awakens in a bedroom of Phoenix's most notorious crime lord. There's an instant attraction to the dangerous alpha male, but Mak knows that's a line she can never cross. That's until her car is forced off a mountain road and Moon is the only one she can call-the only one she can trust. Because if what she suspects is true, it was a cop that ran her car over the edge and down the cliff, a cop who isn't afraid to kill. And in her world of black and white, blue is turning black, and black is turning grey.
Yes the writer can actually write. Sentences & whatnot were strung together fine, it was edited well, no grammar issues & my favorite there was no head hopping which seems to be an epidemic among authors lately. Great got no problem giving credit where it's due.
My entire issue was the complete inexplicable idiocy of the lead character Mak. She was entirely ridiculous. Talk abt head hopping, she was all over the place. As soon as she meets the man she's inundated w/lust for him. Hello insert eyeroll. Next second she's talking like a badass, giving him the kiss off then calling him to come save her, wanting sex him & back to giving him the kiss off cause - wait for it - "He's a bad guy." Oh yeah then we get to go thru the whole rinse, wash, spin, repeat cycle again & again. It was freaking asinine. I lost count of how many people she got killed w/her juvenile behavior. And her 'cops aren't bad' rhetoric was inexcusably LAME, (grrr).
The only saving grace in the entire book was Alex. I'm pissed because I really loved Alex. He was the only one operating w/a brain & no after reading this book I'm not buying his cause I know it'll just piss me off.
Moon was cool & I definitely got his sexy but the man had the patience of Job to the point where it started to make him come off as weak which he wasn't but it became hard to shake that film towards the end. Her preteen routine went too far for too long. Realistically someone in his position wouldn't & couldn't leave himself , his business & his loved ones open to someone like Mak.
I think I'm actually miffed at the lame reviewers on here more than anything else because if it hadn't rated so high I wouldn't have expected it to actually be good. I literally stopped reading several times throughout & questioned the 5 Star reviews so much so that had to check that I was reading the right book & reviews. Not Hot folks.
Don't waste your money. I got it for free, thank heavens, hope you do to or preferably skip altogether.
