“Kendall's research is remarkable in setting forth the early participants and why they were motivated to challenge traditions in light of ‘Sola Scriptura’... May you find this work encouraging and engaging to the point of focusing on ‘Christ,’ the mediator of the New Covenant.”
—RONALD W. MCKINNEY
Pastor, Kinsey Drive Baptist Church, Dalton, Georgia
“Her well-documented recounting of God’s providence in raising up the New Covenant Theology movement draws in the reader with engaging stories of real people as they wrestled with their own understanding and sometimes with one another in an attempt to be faithful to God’s precious Word.”
—DR. LARRY E. MCCALL
Pastor, Christ’s Covenant Church, Winona Lake, Indiana
>Director of Walking Like Jesus Ministries
Often people think of redemptive history only in terms of its promises in the Old Testament and its fulfillment in the New Testament. There is much more to the story than that. In the Old Testament the Holy Spirit also points to Christ through preparation for his birth, pictures or types, and anticipation. Since God's story ultimately affects each one of us, it is worth the time and effort required to understand it. If you do this, you will discover a pearl of great value.
Forgiveness of sin and reconciliation with God are the greatest needs of everyone past, present, and future. This redemption story brings glory to God and benefits believers.
"Whether you are a young believer or a mature saint, immersing yourself in the study of the Scriptures is vital for your spiritual growth into the likeness of Christ our Savior. This unique Bible study, God's Unfolding Story of Salvation, carefully walks through the unfolding storyline of the Bible's redemptive history. It explores the interwoven themes and promises contained in the Old Testament and shows how they are gloriously fulfilled in the person and work of Jesus Christ. This study is a great tool for those who desire to 'search the Scriptures' and grow in the knowledge of the Savior's grace."
--John Dunn, Member, Providence Community Church, St. Catharines, Ontario
"Many Christians find the Bible an intimidating book because they do not know how the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments fit together --they cannot see the big picture. Heather Kendall's Bible study guide, God's Unfolding Story of Salvation, will solve that problem. Well organized, and with careful attention to the biblical text, Kendall's study will give Bible students a good grasp of God's redemptive history--of his eternal intention to redeem a people for his name from every tribe, tongue, and nation. Want the big picture? Get it here!"
--David Daniels, Senior Pastor, Grace Baptist Church, Richmond Hill, Ontario
"If you are looking for a personal or group study with lessons that cover the whole Bible, and have a concern for good theology, comprehensiveness, and practical usefulness, then this book will meet your expectations. Heather Kendall has carefully selected the highlight sections of Scripture and, chapter by chapter, utilizes the fabric of New and Old Testament passages to weave together the grandiose picture of the whole redemptive story. Heather demonstrates a great grasp of God's Word and astutely puts forth all the key elements of the biblical storyline with a Christocentric theme that pervades all of Scripture. You won't be disappointed."
--Gary George, Pastor, Sovereign Grace Chapel, Southbridge, Massachusetts
Heather A. Kendall is the author of A Tale of Two Kingdoms.
The Bible describes Satan's character and activity many times. However, it only records his conversation three times: in the Garden of Eden, in heaven concerning Job, and in the temptation of Jesus. From a human perspective, believers have a problem difficult to understand. How exactly does Satan try to thwart God's plan of salvation? The Bible contains examples of people whom Satan used to promote his evil intentions. It also explains how Satan tries to trip up believers. The resulting conflict boils down to a battle of the wills: God's, Satan's, and ours.
"In this small workbook, Heather Kendall has provided a simple, but clear and helpful introduction to what the Bible says about Satan and his work. Above all, as her chosen title has it, she rightly argues that Christ is greater than Satan. Once again, we see that in all things Christ has the pre-eminence."
--David H. J. Gay, Director, David H. J. Gay Ministry, Bedfordshire, United Kingdom
"Satan is undoubtedly our arch enemy and one who we must not be ignorant of. Heather Kendall, in this Bible study, guides you in a comprehensive, orderly, and easy to follow outline that will be a rich blessing to you. She lays out all the key portions of Scripture that relate to Satan along with pertinent questions in each category that will help you to detect the wiles of the Devil, how to resist him, and the victory we can have, because 'greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.'"
--Gary George, Pastor, Sovereign Grace Chapel, Southbridge, Massachusetts
"I highly endorse Heather's new study, One Greater Than Satan . . . it gives another perspective on the story of redemption that will help people understand God's sovereign control of the circumstances of life and the place of sin and human responsibility. It is a good study for men and women, believer or unbeliever, for Christian growth or evangelism."
--Cliff Linnard, Pastor, Sovereign Grace Family Church, Belleville, Ontario
"Profitable Bible study sees Christ in all Scripture comprehensively and cohesively. Kendall's work has provided that overview for the seasoned believers and newest beginners in our ladies' study. Applied to Satan's work, the focus on Christ in this study should prevent carelessness from taking the Accuser too lightly, and paralysis from fearing him too greatly, and thus prove equally useful to its readers."
--Brad Powers, Pastor of Berean Baptist Church, Sudbury, Ontario
"We have an enemy so stand guard. In the Christian life this is incredibly true and extraordinarily important. In One Greater Than Satan, author Heather Kendall not only helps us understand our enemy but gives necessary insight into how to stand our guard. This study will encourage and equip you as you grow in your faith in Jesus."
--Darren Johnson, Lead Pastor, New Life Baptist Church, Innisfil, Ontario
