It took Eve years to get over Ash and he was always in the back of her mind wondering what if she had quit college and went out on tour with him. Would they be together anymore? After seven years they finally meet up again and Eve is wondering if Ash would even know who she was anymore. Oh yeah, he knew and he knew he wasn’t going to let her go again. Even though Ash was living the famous rock star life he never gave up on loving Eve and he was bound and determined that this time they would make this work. You follow Eve trying to adapt to being the girlfriend of a famous rock star dealing with the grueling tours and all the skanky groupies that couldn’t keep their hands off from Ash. Ash had a redeeming quality that he always shunned the female attention and made it known that he was with Eve and only Eve. Those two could really light up the sheets or the bathrooms or the discreet closets, etc…you get the idea.
Would Eve be accepted in to the world that Ash was a part of or would the rest of the band see her as their Yoko Ono? Was Eve able to handle seeing all of the women who seemed very familiar with Ash and was she able to look ahead and not back at the past seven years guarding her heart from Ash leaving her yet again? If you like rock romance you will like Heaven Sent because Ms. Sparks took you right into the rock star’s world. She also had you rooting for the lost love and hoping that Ash and Eve would be able to make it to a place that most fail to get to. This was my first time reading this author but I will definitely be reading the next installments of the bad rocker boys from Oblivion.
(who is part of their management team). After she tries to ruin Ash and Eve's relationship with drugs, she is fired and Eve takes over. What a brilliant and wonderful book. Can't wait for Trix and Nikki's story. Love this band!!
Eve and Ash were once so close that it was thought that nothing could pull them apart. When Ash gets the opportunity of a lifetime to join up-and-coming rock band Oblivion though, their perfect romance ends as Ash doesn't want Eve to always be waiting for him. As Ash gains fame, Eve's left adrift in one-night stands until she settles for a man who makes her feel good, but nothing close to what Ash engendered in her. When a chance encounter has them picking up where they left off, it becomes a rocky road to HEA as outside forces conspire to keep hem apart. Through it all they fall back on the love that originally drew them together to deal with an ex who can't let things end, a manipulative manager, and other unexpected twists and turns. Along the way we see a couple easily picking up where they left off due to their sweet backstory. They're both strong-willed with a connection that crackles with energy and teems with sensuality and they had me rooting for them every step of the way as Fate makes it clear that they're meant to be together.
Ms. Sparks has crafted a fast-paced story with a sexy hero who tries to do what's right but ends up hurting the person he loves the most. He makes sure not to waste his second chance in a steamy battle to reclaim Eve's heart. Aiding Ash in bringing Eve wholeheartedly into this chaotic world are his equally sexy bandmates who accept her easily. The glimpses we get of these men are addicting and have left me wanting to see more of them. This is a vividly depicted world where the language of sex and partying are on display. It's a sexy world full of excitement and it propels the story at a quick yet satisfying pace to keep me fully invested in the reunited couple's journey to HEA. The only issues I had were the story's predictability, which made this JUST ANOTHER rockstar romance, and the clearly non-American vernacular which occasionally pulled me out of the story's pleasant flow. Ultimately, this is a series I look forward to reading more of as the remaining bandmates have me clamoring for their own stories to be told.
One thing to note, this takes place in America, but is written in the British vernacular. It can throw you off a bit, but shouldn't detract from the story.
All in all, thumbs up!! : )
