Cole is a control freak ex marine that has some deep dark issues.. and Christy is a sex starved woman that has her own very dark issues.. this book isnt your touchy and feely romance this is raunchy and dirty. Christy hires Cole to have no strings attached purely sexual arrangement and since Coles brother James has gotten with Tate now Cole is being persued by every feamle in the area .. so he agrees to have sex with Christy and she will fake date him to keep the girls at bay..
I fell in love with Cole I must admit.. hes tough and hard and just awesome..
I enjoyed this book greatly. and am looking forward to all the other characters stories... especially Jack :]
Christy has serious body issues and can't easily accept that Cole one of the super hot Bowen brothers would want her. It takes some pretty radical means to convince her that she is attractive to Cole.
Cole has HUGE issues with his mom running out on the family when he was 10 and as such never lets a women into his life, yet some how Christy not only worms her way into his live but into his heart.
The idea of orgasms for fake dates dreamed up by Cole to get Christy into his bed and to keep her away from hiring a rent a stud is brilliance in his mind and it works until Christy starts to have deeper feelings and the fake dates feel all to real to her (him too it just takes a while for him to get it through his head).
I loved the bondage play in this book and while I have given it a BDSM label it is all light a little bondage, a blindfold and an occasional spank on the rear. Still with that being the case it doesn't make it any less hot and steamy. I loved the total dominance and control that Cole has and while his need for that is explored it is still hot as hell. So get a cold glass of ice water and be prepared to need it but watch when you take a drink because you may end up snorting it out your nose at some of the funny parts as well.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
If anything, I'm finding it hard to decide which book I liked the best and I just can't decide.
In Heavy Issues we meet the gorgeous Christy Sheridan who has an emotional eating problem and past weight issues that make her question her worth and her choices until a night of one too many tequila's has her sprouting her plans for having great sex in the future.
Enter Cole Bowen, extremely hot brother of the extremely hot James Browen from More Than Meets the Ink. Cole is a confirmed bachelor. He has past issues that relate back to when his mother walked out on the family when he was very young and because of this Cole has vowed to love 'em and leave 'em and have amazing sex along the way, with no attachments whatsoever.
He meets Christy and the sexual chemistry between these two is off the charts. She is a good match for Cole. Een though Christy has her issues, she pretty much lays her feelings out and her and Cole are amazing together.
The angst in this book isn't at all annoying. Everything adds to the story and the developing relationship these two is just wonderful, and the sex is very hot!
Cole is very bossy especially in the bedroom and very firm on how he wants a woman to behave, and I loved him. He was hot as hell and took care of Christy, never belittling her and helping her to combat her issues.
The emotional problems dealt with in this book are so real and I found this a more emotional read than the first one and just loved every page. I couldn't put it down.
I don't know how I'll last until the next one comes out!
