This beautifully simple device saved my marriage. Imagine if you will, for ten years, finding the toothpaste tube in the shape of some sad, demented hour glass, horrifically squeezed and twisted from the middle. The middle I said!! Even after properly pushing the contents toward the cap for easy application, I always found upon return, my efforts undone. Now who, or what is responsible for this Sisyphean undertaking? Was it some imp or trickster absconding with my sanity? Nay, the answer was more disturbing than some mythological saboteur. But how could the woman that I loved dearly, the loving mother of our two children, be capable of such an atrocity? As our tenth anniversary was approaching, I had to make a decision. Could I continue to live like this? The answer lay in the Gill Mechanical Company's Tube-Wringer. With its sturdy steel body and aluminum toothed wringing wheels, not only was it an apropos tenth anniversary gift, my marriage (and sanity) remains intact. Also great for paint tubes.

I am an artist and recently I have fallen in love with artist grade water color paints in tubes. like daniel smith, mission gold, white knights etc. This paint is so expensive because it is so finely pigmented. I have several 5ml tubes that were over 12.00 each. The paint does go a long way, but that made me think that I was leaving far too much of it in the tube when i thought it was empty. I purchased this tube wringer to pry out those last precious dregs of paint in each tube. It truly is amazing how much is still in the tube when i could not physically squeeze it any more I swear there is enough in there for a few more paintings! This tube wringer crimps the tube as it pushes the paint out so that the paint can not leak back into the recesses of the tube so you get every bit, no matter how you pressed and squeezed no one's hands can get out all the paint that this tube wringer easily wrings out.. After 3 crimps are formed you can cut the length of the tube if you want to. (I dont). I can also see this working in my kitchen for tubes of pesto and tomato paste.. Score! Art and food!

Purchased as a Christmas gift for my dad, who like gadgets and also likes getting the most out of his toothpaste tube. WARNING: pay attention to the dimension! This product is HUGE, and is NOT PRACTICAL for using with toothpaste tubes.

I did not pay attention to the dimensions because another website showed it being used with a toothpaste tube but when it came to ordering I preferred to go through Amaazon.

Outside of the impracticality for what I purchased it for this is a really cool and well made product; I was impressed with the construction and my dad liked it as he has some larger tubes of construction-related-items that he can use it on.

It works, and it's well made so I expect this will last forever. The only thing I am disappointed about is that I have seen several pictures with this unit standing up (not on Amazon, but on other sites), so I expected there to be some tension between the legs. There isn't, so it just flops over. Not a big deal, it is still functional but I do wish it could stand as I think it would be a beneficial feature to keep the tube that you are squeezing elevated when you wanted to.

This tool does what is is supposed to but you have to work at it. It takes practice to do it without a struggle. It is ok for doing a few tubes but I had to do dozens and it was a hard job. Someone needs to invent one that doesn't have to be handheld! But it does save LOTS of paint. I was able to save at least $200 worth of paint that was in bad tubes that my mother gave to me when she died and it was important to me to save that paint and use it. I'm both sentimental and frugal. But using this tool was hard on my hands and my patience until I got used to it.

I do not know how I ever lived without this.

I have the small plastic "keys" for paint tubes. And, they are sometimes difficult to put on the larger tubes (I have different sizes - but even the large ones; it is a struggle to get them on) And they are difficult to twist them if you have a stiffer paint like Winsor & Newton. This is so waaaaay better!

It's heavy/heavy duty and works exactly how it is suppose to. If you paint with oils this is a must have. You can even cut the bottom part of the tube off when the paint gets low and this thing will crimp the bottom.

This is built out of thick stiff metal and put together with steel bolts and retaining rings instead of inexpensive sheet metal and weak rivets. The rollers are rounded so they won't puncture tubes and cause leakage or mess.

I bought these because I have small hands and I often cut myself or bruised my palms trying to wrangle tubes. E600 industrial adhesive, toothpaste, silicone. I can now easily use all of these things with the aid of my Tube-Wringer. Couldn't live without it!

admit it, you've read the reviews of people who have bought this running around and squeezing all their tubes and you've thought to yourself how silly that sounds. I thought the same thing - then I bought this! and now I can completely understand the urge to wring all the paint tubes [or any tubes in general] I own!!
this thing is awesome! and it does make you wonder how you managed to squeeze all you paint tubes without owning one!?
it's quite wide so all your paint tubes are guaranteed to fit
is abit hefty but once you start using it you don't really notice the weight [unless you tilt your wrist to the side, but to be honest it's not really that heavy - possibly about the same weight as an A5 book]
it is hand-held, so you do have to squeeze it abit on the tight side to make sure your getting all that paint hiding at the bottom of the tube ^^
you do have to resist the urge to over-squeeze your tubes - if you over-do it then paint will gush out of the top as soon as you take the cap off
this will also wring plastic tubes [example Winsor & Newton's Galeria paint tubes [there are 2 versions knocking around, the original 'tin foil' and the replacement plastic tubes]] but as is to be expected, don't expect the pleats to stay there. They will remain but the first few lines will start to slowly pop back into it's original shape.

overall impressions, this is a good thing to own - wither you use a lot of tube paint or a little, it's nice to know you'll be squeezing out your money's worth ^^
