...the voice acting. The voice acting is absolutely horrendous. The characters, all of whom are very interesting and in depth, are voiced by the most incompetent actors I've ever heard in my life. They make the voice actors from the original 1996 "Resident Evil" sound like Oscar-worthy performances-- if you don't know what I'm referring to, go look up videos of the cut-scenes from 1996's "Resident Evil: Director's Cut." If you think those voice actors are terrible, they are GODS compared to the voice actors for "Heavy Rain." That is my only complaint about this game in general-- everything else is pure brilliance.
Let's talk a little bit about the story, but without giving too much away. You play four different characters, in what I've referred to before as "Rashomon format." It's the same story told from several (in this case four) different perspectives. The story plays out like a suspenseful thriller movie, along the lines of "Se7en." There's a serial killer called "the Origami Killer," who uses extended periods of rain to drown his victims in ditches in an undisclosed area somewhere near Manhattan-- they're all young boys, with whom he leaves behind an origami figure and cryptic notes to the boys' fathers.Read more ›
March 1, 2016 is the current release date for a remastered version for PS4. I'm rarely excited about remastered games but I'm planning to get this. There's nothing else I want from Christmas until March, so why not revisit
I was highly impressed on the graphics and story line. It's definitely improved since Indigo. I love how they put the extra effort into making the story lines so different, you really have multiple endings, much more than the previous game. I love that the chapters are set up for you. You can go back, redo a chapter, or just go back to play it differently to see a new out come. I have played it once, I am playing it again so I can see the difference.
My favorite character in this game is Norman Jayden. He's the best since he does have the cool ARI glasses.
Overall, enjoyable and will leave you wanting to go back and play it again. It is aimed for a mature audience so beware for some brutality.
