Highly recommend this cover! When I received it, I thought that it may be too big for the lens, but I installed it and it stayed firmly in place. I really like that it has two clips inside that enable it to hold on the lens better. Another nice feature is that it's reversible for storage so I can say that I'm very satisfied with the product. Update: I've had this for a couple months now and it's still works great. I didn't mention this before but the inside part of the hood is painted flat black to cut down on reflections. A minor problem I've noticed is that one of the clips will pop out occasionally but I'll just glue it in place and it should work normally. Still very satisfied and definitely happy I didn't get the Canon hood for a much steeper price.

This lens hood is a great bargain. It does have the felt inside
to reduce the reflection.
It fits perfectly on my 100 Macro at an amazing cost. It snaps on
perfectly in it's normal position and also reversed.
I recommend it highly.

This is a very affordable option if you have the EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens. Using a lens, even a macro lens, without a hood is like driving around with your gas tank door open. Luckily, affordable options like this exist.

I have not always had the best luck with 3rd party hood replacements, but this hood slides on easily, and clicks into place, holding it firm. I will purchase this item again if the need arises.

Very happy with this product. The hood, in my opinion, is so much better than the Canon hood which I also have but this hood looks better and fits more securely on my lens. Love it so much I order another (ET-73) for my other 100mm macro L lens. You just can't beat it for the price. Thanks!

Why would you EVER buy a canon lens hood when hoods like this are available? First of all, I think it's outrageous that after spending hundreds of dollars on a lens, canon expects you do dish out another $30-$40 for a hood... but I digress.
I compared this to some canon brand lens hoods that I've gotten with some of my L lenses, and there's basically no difference. Canon MIGHT use slightly thicker plastic, but I couldn't tell a difference. Definitely buy this over Canon!

I bought this hood for the non-IS version of the Canon 100 mm f/2.8 macro lens and was quite pleased with the quality. I returned this hood, however, when I decided to return the lens and buy the IS version, which includes a hood. (The return and refund, less shipping costs, was quick and easy; no complaints there.)

This hood is a perfectly fine substitute for the much more expensive version Canon sells. It's well-made and I would expect it to last and perform just as well as Canon's own version.

Perfect lens hood. Only get the genuine Canon lens hood if you're a Canon snob, or perhaps a professional photographer. There's no reason to pay ~3x more for essentially the same chunk of plastic.

I love having this hood on my Macro lens but the only bummer is the built in flash hits it. So you can't use your built in flash on your DSLR while using this hood. Other than that it works great and cheaper than name brand.

Update: 12-16-13
I've had this lens hood for awhile now. I have hit it against trees, doors, walls, fences and have had many snakes strike at it and it's showing no signs of breakage; just a few scratches.
