About the Author
Jonathan Keren-Black has been teaching Hebrew for over thirty years, and has learnt from and incorporated the ideas and methods of several of his colleagues including Rabbi Richard Lampert and Rabbi Jonathan Romain into the unique program he has developed. Jonathan Keren-Black became a Rabbi in 1988, working in a London congregation before moving to Melbourne to work at the Leo Baeck Centre for Judaism in 2003. He has adapted the book 'A Judaism for the Twenty-First Century' for use in the Southern Hemisphere, and was the Editorial Team Leader of the World Union Edition of Mishkan T'filah, a new prayerbook published in 2010. Jonathan is also heavily involved with environmental concerns and interfaith relations, and believes in putting prayer into practice. For Jewish prayer, a key step is being able to read and join in with the Hebrew, the reason for this book!
