In reality, I'm all of it.
But I couldn't be those things all at once... could I?
This book made me confront these apparent contradictions and seek out a more holistic sense of myself, including my professional self. It's a good read and flows well, helping you understand the author as a person. This is always the mark of a good book.
I do think that this dilemma is one that many people have, although I do think much of humanity still spends their day working very hard simply to eat. As such, I think the book is meant for people from developed countries who have some disposable time, disposable income and room for pensive thought. This certainly describes me and likely you, too.
Finally, I enjoyed the survey of archetypes in popular media at the end of the book. Since reading the book, I have been much more aware of the various archetypal depictions in the things I watch for entertainment. The Hero is everywhere!
Great book, get it.
You already know that there is a hero lurking deep inside of you - it's time for you to bring that hero out!! READ THIS BOOK.
