Zach is a linebacker for his high school football team and not your typical romance hero. Being the linebacker he’s a big guy and while in good shape he’s not carrying a six pack. I love how considerate and caring he is and how he’s always watching out for Jill. But because of his size and Jill being a good friend he doesn’t think she could ever want him and misreads all her signs.
Jill is head cheerleader and definitely not your typical one. Her reasoning for thinking that Zach doesn’t want her is because while she’s no ditz with a credit card she’s just average smart (Zachs a smarty) and he would be embarrassed to date her. I do like that she is first to make a move and when they finally start figuring things out she has no problem telling him what she wants.
I recently just read most of Jessa’s library and while I do enjoy her books they tend to follow a pretty similar theme. It was really nice to read something different by her. Just like her other books it’s short, sexy, to the point and never disappointing but somehow felt different and I hope she writes more like this.
Zach is a virgin, and so is Jill. They’re both seniors and have been in each others lives for a long time. Jill‘s best friend is Zach’s sister. Jill is the head cheerleader while Zach is on the football team, a linebacker. This means that he’s a bigger guy, but not necessarily with a lot of fluff, more like thick with muscles and a little bit of fluff. He’s very protective of her, especially when guys talk about her in inappropriate ways. He’s her protector and is willing to guard her against anyone. Jill has been in love with him for years; in fact, one of the reasons why she loves to cheer is because she gets to see him play. And one of the reasons that he’s on the football team is to see her cheer. Kismet 🥰
They’re both virgins and, one day, she brings up exploring with each other, sexually. He agrees and. OH. EM. GEE! 🔥🥵😅 💦. They might be virgins, but smexy times are 🤤🔥🥵😅💦. Jeeezus! Jessa Kane never disappoints! And it felt organic because they’ve known each other for years, so they are very much in tuned with each other. I found myself fanning my face as I was reading this.
Highly recommended!!! My only complaint is that it is way too short LOL but it was so good.
-no cheating (and never with JK books)
-mild omd (one-sided)
-be prepared to look behind you and blush while reading 🥵
I think I may have liked Husky better but only because it seemed to wrap up so perfectly and was so insta-love - it didn't need more story than JK gave it. Pound of Flesh, one of her earlier works also has this theme of a large somewhat insecure guy. While I loved Husky and Hefty, I think I liked Pound of Flesh's more aggressive and dirtier H just a BIT better. All recommended.
Possible trigger? There is some IQ and Body Shaming. It’s brief, and not too intense, but if it’s a hot button for you, please be cautious. The couple helps each other grow out of those issues, so I feel even if it’s a concern, it’s worth the risk to read this.

1. There was some proofreading done since it does have some typos/misspellings
2. If the cover of the book was changed. Also would have loved if the hero wasn’t described as furry!! Lol
