"Enlightenment Now: The Case for Reason, Science, Humanism, and Progress"
Is the world really falling apart? Is the ideal of progress obsolete? I really enjoyed that things are moving along in Harry's world and it looks like she and Tess might be getting into actual investigations eventually. I really liked learning about a whole new paranormal species, and getting some of the norms like Father Michael involved in a way that was both surprising and fun. These books really remind me of some of my other favorite authors at times, like the Anita Blake series although without all the things I've come to dislike about the more recent Anita Blake books.
I will admit that I'm starting to become more interested in what's going on with Tess than in what's going on with Harry, but I think that might just be because Tess has been acting so mysterious this book. I can't wait to see where her storyline goes. As for Harry, she's learning more abut herself and her own powers, as well as about her family. Her relationship with Nash is moving along nicely; they're still learning how to get along when he's all animalistic alpha male and she's an independent woman who can take care of herself. The erotic scenes are HOT as always and I love that she is never a pushover but that she also doesn't act like an idiot just to prove how independent she is. That doesn't mean she avoid trouble though; nope, trouble definitely finds her and this new storyline was fascinating as well as tying in well with the previous storylines!
Overall, this is such an enjoyable series to me and I'm looking forward to seeing it continue! Lisa Emme is definitely now on my 'authors to watch' list =)
If you want a fun series, with a lot of action, some romance and a great group of characters, the Harry Russo series will satisfy. Although this book can be read alone, I strongly suggest that you start at the beginning, as it will give you a better understanding of the relationships and the back stories of the various characters.
