I could not decide what the name of the CIA traitor was. There was a reference to julie walker"s previous books, the Black Knights Inc. Series. In the most recent books of that series the knights, along with CIA director Morales were hunting a man who had the last name of Winterfield. Early on, this book mentions both the knights and Morales. In fact, Morales is in this book hunting a CIA traitor, but his last name is Winter. Until the last few chapters of the book, then somehow his name changes to Wilson. Wilson apparently has an Arabic name too, but that name remained consistent. I enjoy the action, some sex, the great back and forth kidding among the characters. That has not changed from Walkers previous books. I just cannot rate a book very high when the author (or proof reader?) Cannot keep the name of the only CIA traitor in this book constant. I do not understand why it was changed, even from winter to Wilson. Perhaps this book concerns a different traitor, one whose name was white and not winterfield. But why then change it to Wilson? Since uneven writing breaks up the flow, and has me questioning instead of enjoying the words I am reading. I will read the next book in the deep six series, hopefully there will be no such errors and I will enjoy It as much as I have the Black Knight series.

Nothing like cracking open the binding…er, Kindle cover on a new series, book one. I just love Julie Ann Walker’s Black Knight series, with those swashbuckling alpha males riding their motorcycles like our sweet savage lovers of old rode their valiant steeds. Now we’ve got some pirates! Oh, yes, in modern parlance that would be “salvagers,” right? Tomato, tomatah…

Poor Leo the Lion, former SEAL and now one of the crew who’re teaming up to find treasure on an island that his family is about to lose the lease on. When he and his team retired, they all invested in this plan to harvest a fortune from the seafloor. But time’s a tickin’ and they’d better get started on finding the hidden Spanish gold and jewels before they’re kicked off the place for good. They’ve run into lots of delays, and it’s taking a lot of manpower and more cash than they have, but they’re motivated. Unfortunately, Leo doesn’t have his head in the game–he’s started thinking about Olivia Mortier–the one that got away.

Olivia is still in the CIA, still working undercover, and still in need of Leo’s help. She’d gotten to know him when they worked together in Afghanistan and really wished that their near-kiss had happened…but it didn’t. Just another hit to her personal life, courtesy of her job. When her latest assignment lands her in the deep, she’s got to get some help fast–and Leo and company are the best. Even though they’ve retired, she’s pretty sure she can get them to help because she knows what they need–CASH. But they’re not going to like it–or her for asking.

Chemical weapons are now trapped on the bottom of the sea. Unless they’re recovered the “right” guys, it could be bottoms up for everyone. Will Leo and crew accept the mission?

Loving this new series! I have to say I absolutely love the Black Knights series and am addicted to every new book that comes out. Well I have found a new addiction as well. This new series is fantastic. It is full of suspense, drama, love....the background information alone is captivating. You will fall in love with these ford mere SEALS. They all have their own personality. Loving Leo and his take charge attitude...both out of and in the bedroom...lol. Olivia and Leo make a perfect team and I can't wait to see what other adventures they will have. I am very curious about Bran though.....hopefully he will find love too!! I have someone in mind! Can't wait for more!

"Not all treasure is silver and gold." In fact, it comes on pages, rapidly flipped to see the good guys defeat the bad, and definitely find a happily ever after. Julie Ann Walker gifts us with such a treasure in HELL OR HIGH WATER. The heroes who found the Deep Six, a salvage unit of Ex-Navy SEALS, are called on to salvage, not just treasure, but something more priceless--the safety of their country. Leo leads this pride of lions who know that there is no such thing as an "EX" SEAL when duty calls. And when duty comes in the form of CIA agent Olivia Mortier, Leo will stop at nothing to save her, his country, and the lives of his team in this debut to Walker's hot new treasure!

The Deep Six series is a loose spin-off od the Black Knights Inc series. The characters in this series were introduced in the Black Knight Novel "Full Throttle". This series is about a Navy SEAL team, who all decided to leave the service at the same time. Their decisions were based upon the loss of one of their members on a mission. They made a promise to him to live life, and to remember that there was more out there than being a SEAL all their lives. The first book in this series is about Leo "the lion" Anderson, or LT as the team members call him. Leo has inherited his dad's salvage boat and floundering salvage company, located on a private island off the Florida Keys. Leo has been told the story, since he was a boy, of the shipwreck of the Santa Christina, a lost Spanish Galleon that went down somewhere in the vicinity. Leo convinces the rest of his team to pitch in their money, time and lives to try to find it, and to keep the salvage company afloat.
However, the twist to the story comes when the CIA comes hunting down Leo. Seems that they need an experienced deep sea diver to retrieve something that they lost to a terrorist group, and that something is under water. AND the CIA person who comes to Leo is Olivia Morales...who happened to be stationed with Leo at one time...one very memorable time!
This book is a little bit of a change from the normal SEAL books, but not a lot. There is action, adventure, ships being blown up, guns, abductions, the standard fare. The little glimpses of the rest of the team members are intriguing, and really get your interest piqued. However, what really got me interested is the back story, the story of the Santa Christina.
