Hugely original and action-packed, this book is not for the faint-hearted. The closest equivalent I can think of in terms of tone is Kill Bill, but the plot is quite different. It's great to see a female protagonist in such a book. This one is well worth checking out.- RD eBook Fanatic
"The story is compulsive and grips you from the start.
This is a short book with a twist at the end which leaves it open to a sequel....looking forward to that!" - Colette Brown.
"The ghost of Lisbeth Salander (the girl with the dragon tattoo) dogs the heels of Nancy Kerr as she wreaks her revenge on the men who killed her parents and savagely raped her. Set in Glasgow, the book has a strong sense of location and fairly rattles along, every page demanding my full attention. The narrator's voice is perfect for the genre; Jenny Thomson knows how to tell a tale and her use of language and location bring the pages vividly to life. Although the violence is, at times, eye-watering, Nancy and Tom (the man she slips into a relationship with), do possess a moral compass - albeit one which steers a course unfamiliar to most of us.
This book is not for the fainthearted - if you're squeamish, be prepared to flinch at some of the scenes - but even someone like me, who doesn't normally read this genre, will definitely be reading the next in the Nancy Kerr and Tommy McIntyre series.".- CA Mathews
From the Author
I wanted to create pure escapist fiction, with strong women characters, that people would enjoy reading where the action wouldn't let up. I wanted to write the books I wanted to read that simply weren't there.
The Crime Files books are aimed at readers who like to read about tough women who will stand up for what they believe in. They can be violent, but they will always be entertaining and the violence isn't just random. Usually it's the bad guys (and gals) getting their comeuppance.
Note - the first two books in the series were previously published by another publisher.
