I'd say if you liked his last album or his newer singles included in the greatest hits collections than pick it up (the single "warzone", which I thought was more in line with what I'd love about zombie songs). But if you were expecting like I was truly hellbilly deluxe 2, than I'd download a few of the good ones. That's probably what gets me is that his older albums I could listen over and over again beginning to end. Unfortunately like the last album I think there's only a few worthy tunes. I "was" a HUGE zombie fan and had to pick it up regardless.
This new album kicks ass and then some!
I find that it gets better and better each time I listen to it.
I loved it the first time through but it just grows and grows on me.
I think it should have had a different title though.
But then again, this album actually has more of an actual "Hellbilly" sound than the first one did.
John-5 rocks and when he is playing guitar, you know damn well it's him.
Oh crap, I was just talking about the first release!
This one is even better and the new tracks are f***ing amazing!
Some say Rob's music has changed too much and blah...blah...blah.
Now if he didn't change people would say he is just repeating himself.
But really, his persona hasn't changed all that much, he is still the same Rob Zombie we know and love.
The music is what has changed and for me, it's never been a letdown.
And we all know that if an artist does not evolve or change, they are not going to get any better at what they do.
I have been a fan since the White Zombie days and I will always be a fan.
I guess you have to be kinda like a b-movie nerd to really enjoy it fully, and then maybe not.
Whatever, I am not going to write a book here.
This new CD/DVD is awesome and no fans should be without this!
I think this is even better than Educated Horses, which was also a great album in it's own right.
The only downside is that even though there is a new drummer, he sounds no different than the last one.
But other than that, I have nothing to complain about.
Tongue-in-cheek ghoul-rock peppered with horror movie quotes is what he has always done best, all the way back to "La Sexorcisto..." with White Zombie, and this is a return in that direction.
What I really like about "Hellbilly 2" though, is listening to the great John 5 play within the Zombie template. He is one of the planet's most talented guitarists, and brings a diverse palate of sounds--metal riffs, country picking, slide guitar, surf licks, feedback squeals, and shredding solos--to Zombie's well-established formula.
The only bummer was the dvd part.Read more ›

Quite possibly my favorite RZ album after my first listen through. The highs are pretty high but I don't think I came across any clunker or filler tracks. Read morePublished 5 months ago by R. Soucy
