I immediately took a liking to Jade because the book opened up with her not only fighting against her reality as a succubus but also now serving under her new master, Kade.
One negative I found that should have been expanded on was how she came to serve under Kade. We know that she was traded and betrayed by her prior owner/lover? and given to Kade because of a lost bet.
I found it both amusing and stupid of Jade to run away from Kade-trying to escape acting on her arousal,-which resulted in a dead Iriyo. Poor Iriyo and poor Jade. This sexual experience would traumatisize anyone; even moreso because it felt good while doing it. She could have avoided this if she had just accepted what she was and asked questions about what she could except from being a succubus from Kade, even though I'm not sure he would have answered her questions. We didn't really get to know much about him and from the scenes that he was I was in, I inferred he thinks anything under his control is plaything for his amusement.
I am really intrigued about how Jade develops as a character and how she serves out her thousand year sentence. I see a future of drama, heartbreak, bittersweetness, and stupidity. Hopefully, there is HEA or something close to it. I'm in and will be reading the first book. You definitely should too.

Well written interesting possibilities that didn't have time to evolve.
