From the Artist
I wanted to create a piece that appealed to me, not what I thought other people would want. Spent too many years doing THAT! I love standards and Jazz, but regular Cabaret material I find sometimes stale and boring and oh so, "done". I have always loved a varitey of music especially rock and pop from the 70's so I thought, "What the hell, I'll put some of that in there too." And I did and I think it's kinda fun. In the midst of performing standards I slip in a tune from a familiar, yet different time. I love it when people get that look on their face like they know the song, but not sure how. Memories come back and usually a smile and before they even can name the tune, they are mouthing the lyrics. It's cathartic for all and fun. If it isn't fun, then why do it? That's what I'm sayin' here.
