Product Description

My Name Is... is the debut album from Disney Channel star Bridgit Mendler via Hollywood Records. Listed on Billboard's recently published 10 to Watch list in the pop field, Mendler is already making noise online with the video for her first single 'Ready or Not'. As part of the promotion for Mendler's debut, she will be Vevo's Lift artist.
Mendler stars in the Disney Channel series 'Good Luck Charlie' and was the lead actress in the Disney Channel film Lemonade Mouth, which had the biggest selling soundtrack of 2011.
Mendler, 19, co-wrote the 12 songs on the album; 'Ready Or Not' was written with Emanuel 'Eman' Kiriakou and Evan 'Kid' Bogart.

Until hearing "Ready or Not" on the radio, I never heard of Bridgit Mendler. After checking out her whole album, I became a fan.

The 19-year old Bridgit Mendler comes from the Disney Channel, but `serious' music fans or older listeners shouldn't dismiss her. Her music is not cheesy at all. It's very pop, yes, but it incorporates jazz, soul, and real rock. Every song is well-crafted and has quality lyrics. The production never feels generic. Every song sounds different from the others and would stand out among other pop singer's stuff. And Mendler has a beautiful voice with a nice texture.

I like every song on the album. The songs are mostly upbeat and they always have a feel-good vibe. Like all Disney singers, the lyrics are always innocuous. Besides "Ready or Not", some of the better songs are "Top of the World", "Hurricane", "City Lights", and "5:15". Most of the songs could easily be performed by Jessie J, Demi Lovato or Carly Rae Jepsen. However, "5:15" could have been performed by Amy Winehouse.

Bridgit Mendler is an underrated artist. She deserves more exposure and fame, as she is better than most of the others on pop radio. If you like pop music, give her a listen if you haven't already.

It seems like every teen star of a Disney series will eventually bring out an album, such as Hilary Duff, Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale, Miley Cyrus, and others. Some have had a mild success at a singing career and others have bombed.

Now Bridget Mendler of Disney's Good Luck Charlie has released her debut album. One would think she would face the marketing curse of the other ex-Disney stars/singers, but unlike the others, Bridget actually co-wrote all twelve songs.

I've been a fan of Disney's Good Luck Charlie every since it began airing in 2010 as it reminds me of the old TGIF sitcoms. I was aware that Bridget Mendler, who plays Teddy Duncan, was releasing an album, but I just happened to stumble upon it yesterday for ten dollars. I was having a bad day and listening to music always cheers me up, therefore I bought the Hello My Name is...Bridget Mendler.

The songs are your typical pop/dance music, but with catchy lyrics and Bridget's amazing vocals. My favorites from the album are Ready or Not; All I See Is Gold; Love Will Tell Us Where To Go; Rocks At My Window; 5:15; and Hold On For Dear Love.

Overall, I more than enjoyed the album and I recommend it to others.

The Complete Track List:

1. Ready or Not (3:20)
2. Forgot to Laugh (3:09)
3. Top of the World (3:28)
4. Hurricane (4:04)
5. City Lights (4:00)
6. All I See is Gold (2:54)
7. The Fall Song (3:38)
8. Love Will Tell Us Where To Go (3:22)
9. Blonde (3:08)
10. Rocks At My Window (3:12)
11. 5:15 (3:56)
12. Hold On For Dear Love (4:00)

I don't know how else to put this other than this album is simply amazing! There are no songs on this album that I don't like, which is rare for me. I'm also not that big on pop, but a lot of these songs are very soulful; with Bridgit's very seductive and strong singing voice, it's not difficult for me to give this a album a full 5 star rating.

If you're debating on whether or not to buy the Deluxe version over the standard album. I would definitely recommend spending the extra 50 cents for the deluxe. The three extra songs are definitely worth it!

I was incredibly impressed with Bridgit's debut album. Her voice is rich and vibrant. Every song is enjoyable. Please do not lump her in the bubble gum pop crowd, this girl is something special.

I watch the Disney Channel regularly, and like Bridgit Mendler. I bought the CD because I liked the first song, which was played over and over on the Disney Channel. Unfortunately, I didn't like any of the other songs near as much. I didn't *dislike* them, but they left something to be desired.
It's great casual-driving kind of music, but they're all missing a little something. Bridgit has a great voice, and she has a lot of talent. I can't wait to see what else she comes out with. As of now, I think the lyrics are a bit silly at times, and a lot of the songs sound the same. This is a great CD for the pre-teen crowd.

I purchased this album after hearing "Ready or Not" on the radio and being impressed by Mendler's jazzy vocals. Vocally, this album is outstanding and Mendler has vocal control way beyond what most 20 year old pop stars could even dream of. She reminds me of a cross between Natasha Bedingfield and Nelly Furtado, and I love it.

Artistically, this album has its ups and downs. The single off this album, "Ready or Not" is a jazz-pop hybrid stylistically reminiscent of early Michael Buble. As many other reviewers have mentioned, 5:15 is another standout, with an r and b rhythm that could have belonged to Amy Winehouse. "Hurricane" and "City Lights" were also favorites of mine. "Blonde" was another great track, because it showed a sense of humor and not taking herself too seriously, two qualities important in a young artist.

The rest of the album was hit or miss in my opinion. Keep in mind I hadn't heard of her before the radio, so I know nothing of her Disney Channel days or prior musical background, and I can't really call myself a fan of hers before this album. "Rocks at My Window" was awkward, and felt like it was trying to be "D.I.N.O.S.A.U.R" by Kesha. The slower ballad songs were skippable in my opinion.

However, five great songs out of twelve is pretty impressive for a debut album these days. Her unique voice and style is a treat, and if she keeps developing on that style and niche, she's definitely an artist to watch out for.
