Good performance for the price

I bought these for my brother before a glacier hiking/ice climbing adventure in wet weather. It turns out, the guide shop we used stocks the very same pants for guests who don't bring their own, which is a pretty good endorsement. If you spend a lot of time doing sports in wet conditions, you probably want to get some fancier gortex pants, but these performed well, especially for the price. I ended up wearing a pair as well.
Note: they are definitely not low-rise. There is plenty of space to pull them up around your ribs, if that's what you're into.

This material split and cracked in several places - with no more than ordinary walking and sitting in a bus seat.
For my needs, this is a cheap, inferior piece of junk - Excuse - for a rain gear product.

Awesome Rain Pants For People Who Don't Like Those Oversized Yellow Rain Suits.

I put these rain pants to the test today. I work outside driving a lot on a lift and here lately we've been getting loads of rain. The suits they supply us with at work just dont cut it for me. The mustard yellow color is ridiculous and they only carry them in large so im always looking like a clown in them. So I decided to give these a try. I got them in small. Im only 5'6 with a waist of 29. At first they seemed a bit too long but once i put them on they fit better than expected. I guess you kind of want that extra length to cover your footwear too. The best part is that i no longer look like a midget in oversize clothing lol. Rodeo clown is what thwy would call me but not anymore! Anyway the quality is great and they fit great over pants. I never felt them overheat and its the beginning of june here in tx. So im pleased with these. Hope they last a while.

Good light duty rain pants

I was a commercial fisherman on the Yukon River for thirty years and used Helly Hansen all that time. Their heavy duty
rain gear are about as good as you can get. These light weight pants are working well for outdoor chores in the rain. My only complaint about these pants is that there was a six inch section of the waistband that was not sewn during the manufacturing process. It was an easy fix at home, but HH should look a little closer at Quality Control before they put them out the door

These waterproof pants are pretty good for the price. I'd say they are meant for somewhat limited usage, such as dog walking, spectator sports, fishing, camping etc. I wouldn't wear these pants hiking, hunting or activities involving the idea of getting them snagged on brush or rocks etc. They do breathe ok, kind of a bummer without any pockets. A solid 7/10 in my books.

I wear scrubs to and from work, which are not compatible with rain and snow. These things are easy to throw on over them and work phenomenally well. Would not want to wear inside for more than an hour as they don't breathe but was able to drive 2 hours with them on in a snow storm and was comfortable. A great value for a solid Helly Hansen product.

I wasn't sure about the medium or large. I went with the medium and they fit fine. I'm a 33" waist and 5'10". They're a little long but they're a good fit. If you want extra room to fit these over jeans or carhartts or are any larger than a 34", I would go large.

It's lightweight, and keeps the rain and wind out pretty well.

However, I'd be careful about being particularly active while wearing these. A walk in the rain with these pants will leave your lower extremities wet, but not because of the rain. I don't tend to sweat much, but this does a good job of activating that function quite well.

So if standing still in the rain or snow with said pants is something you'd like to do, these are your pants.

If you plan to be doing some moving, especially in warmer temperature, then expect some precipitation. Seems to trap heat well, so I could also imagine great utility as a shell layer for cold conditions. Again, you probably don't want to be too active in that cold.

These are great pants. It is correct to say that they don't breath very well, however I need a pant that keeps the water off me and not one that will eventually absorb water and stick to my leg. I hate that feeling and find the notion that they claim to be "waterproof" to be very misleading. I looked at 4-8 other styles of pants from most major manufacturers before I chose these.

In my experience any of the nylon style pants will do just that. These however are made to impenetrable for water and so far they are just that. They do have a soft inside with a wide leg that makes then a cinch to put on and take off. The slide right over my boots and have a snap at the bottom to secure them and keep them from dragging on the ground.

They were perfect for their use and also the price. I'm not sure they can be beat quite honestly.

Very much on the large size and poorly made . I thought Helly Hansen was a brand name t trust but these trousers have been a real letdown. They are on the big side but I expected this from the reviews and they do fit over trousers so bound to be big.
Yes they are waterproof and kept me perfectly dry so no issues there, however on the 3rd time of wear pulled the draw string at the top to tighten and the elastic pulled through the waistband the fastening inside had been wholly inadequate , in fact on closer inspection 1 stitch. Very poor and can't tighten to wear so will have to cut waist band and thread and re attach not what you would expect from a famous brand name
