I experimented with calibration weights and the product's claim to be able to detect differences in as little as a tenth of a pound seems accurate to me. I posted a video of me weighing myself and then picking up approximately 50 grams and the scale did read a tenth of a pound heavier, and whenever I dropped the calibration weights the scale would go back to my original weight as expected. I weighed the calibration weights with a lab analytical balance scale which has a resolution of 0.01 grams and the analytical scale said the weights were as claimed.
I then did a consistency experiment where I would weigh myself then get off the scale and reweigh myself ten times. Here were my results:
1. 150lb
2. 149.9lb
3. 150lb
4. 150lb
5. 149.9lb
6. 149.9lb
7. 149.9lb
8. 149.9lb
9. 150lb
10. 149.9lb
total: 1499.4lb
average: 149.94lb
I then did a slightly different experiment in which in between each weighing I turned the scale off, then turned it on, then weighed myself. I consider this method to be more accurate as the scale tares each time it is turned on. Here were the results:
1. 149.9lb
2. 150lb
3. 150lb
4. 150lb
5. 150lb
6. 150lb
7. 150lb
8. 150lb
9. 149.9lb
10. 150lb
total: 1499.8lb
average: 149.98lb
I'm very happy so far with this purchase, I feel that the accuracy for the item's price is very good. I plan to be using it daily so if accuracy degrades over time I will update my review.
