Randy and Jason Sklar seek new fans for their stand-up CD, "Henderson's and Daughters," recorded live in Denver, CO. Applicants must be old enough to question necrophilia and poor rhyming in fairy tales and enjoy the bawdier versions of jokes originally written for toddlers (example: What do you call a quilt that's slept with 20,000 people? Quilt Chamberlain!). Must be confounded both by the presence of twins in sexual fantasy and the sovereignty of the fleshy area that connects actual conjoined twins. Must be unable to keep up with the Kardashians, but understand the early warning signs of hoarding episodes of Hoarders on the DVR. Must fully internalize the shame of finding that Scarlett Johanssen, ScarJo herself, has "Pizza Hutted" you with a Jeff Buckley cover song. And above all, must understand that Margaret Cho would be the only acceptable substitution for Mr. Miagi should we need to create another Karate Kid remake. So long as, of course, the kid gets a safe word.

The Sklar brothers had me spasm laughing with this release. They do that with their delightful podcast "Sklarboro Country" as well but this was guest free and had a tighter feel. I had seen them workshop bits of this album a year ago @ Meltdown and they have buffed that material to reveal a stunning luster. The back and forth tagging of each other's jokes makes this a definite download. I am a fan. Henderson!

Recorded in Colorado at Comedy Works, this album could have been called Avalanche, because that's what they do. I attended the tapings and I have to say this album really does it justice! Great work. You're inundated with pop and sports culture.
Like the duo of "Sweetwater" Clifton and Fred "Curly" Neal, they play off each other with assists, setups, riffing and take turns dunking over you with ridiculously blistering pace. Being at a show is like being a Washington General in the 70s with a lot less buckets of confetti thrown in your face... Deadspin did report that the Sklars were looking to sign Rip Taylor however to increase that phase of their game.
Grab this album, listen to the podcast after and then find a live show and see for yourself. You'll thank me later.
Listen to these guys on their podcast and fell in love with their back and forth banter and craft of comedy. Its rare to find a comedy duo that works as seamlessly as Jason and Randy.
