Editorial Reviews

The colossus of Big Sur at work, living in, and revising old haunts in Brooklyn and Paris. Miller generously reveals how he saw his era, his peers and himself. He recalls his painful youth and his struggle to survive as a writer; talks about art, dreams, and the allure of Paris; reads passages from his works and enjoys himself with friends, including Lawrence Durrell, Anais Nin, Alfred Perles, Brassai, and Jakov Gimpel. What emerges in this insightful documentary is Miller's charm, his gentleness and his lust for life.

Henry Miller, ths clown of god followed that Rabelais line. If you have seen Henry and June, and you wanna see the real Hank, this is it. Family, June, art, friends ,painting, are a few subjects of the insights that he reveals. Great. Just great

This film is fun to watch for any Miller fan. It flows like one of his essays. He reads from his work, discusses philosophy with his friends, and strolls around his old Parisian haunts.

cudos to any documentary film maker that challenges the very nature of that hum-drum world... Bob tried his best, but his own personality interfered.. But without him, there neve would have been anything on HM... He was a valued friend, confidant and a great person... So it's worth watching... Someone should get the miles of unused film out of the vaults and go forward.....
