Henry's End was my first read from Julie Richman. I went in blind, not knowing what to expect from this author, and I was quite surprised and pleased. I was also in tears!

Oh.. Henry!!! Oh my goodness, did I love him! What's not to love? He is beautiful, not only on the outside, but inside as well.
He's friendly, funny and flirty.
But Henry will take you on one hell of a roller coaster ride. You better have your seat belt fastened... and your tissues at hand!!

There is so much love in this book, not only between lovers, but between friends and between soul mates!

"We'll run through this."

There is also tragedy and pain. My heart shattered into pieces, more than once! At one point I had to actually stop reading, put my Kindle down and walk away!

Then there are the laugh out loud funny moments! I love the easygoing playfulness of some of these characters. Plenty of funny one-liners, silly banter and flamboyant personalities.
"Who was hotter- Brandon or Dylan? Was David really in the closet?"
And let's not forget the steam and hot naughty man love! Lots of it!

There is a lot to take in in this story. There are several main and secondary characters. Everything works amazingly well together, mind you, just be prepared for a lot going on!

After finishing the story, you're informed that several of these characters are from previous books. No need to panic if you haven't read them though, as I hadn't, because there was always an explanation of who they were and how they related to Henry. If you have read the previous books, then you should be very pleased to revisit these characters!

I adored Henry, all of the characters, well, almost all, and this funny, tender and heartfelt story. It's definitely a must read!!

Sigh…I love Julie Richman very much. She just knows how pull on heartstrings to bring on the serious feels. I am gonna be honest in saying that I did not think I would be as moved as I was by Henry’s story. This is only my second M/M story and it was never genre I felt like exploring. I have nothing against the gay community, I just said, “I have issues connecting with straight couples sometimes…what the hell am I gonna do with gay ones…lol” but I was so wrong. Please be advised – THERE MAY BE SPOILERS from the Needing Moore Series. It cannot be helped. Please read with caution if you have not finished that series.

We start with present day Henry Clark. He just left Mia and Schooner wedding. He is has just been left on his ass after meeting Seth Shapiro and feeling an instant connection. A want to know him in every way. We then jump into Henry’s past and man what a past it is. Henry is just sweet, lovable and so broken. Finding love has not been easy journey for him. He starts his sexual life on a very rough note that may not have broken him but it does have a lasting impact on how he views and has sexual encounters through the majority of his life. It’s rough to read and I shed more than a few tears on his behalf. If this story is even half of what gay men went through in the 90’s my heart breaks for them.

I have loved Schooner since Searching for Moore. I loved his need to protect. His loyalty. The never-ending love he gave to people he deemed family. Henry’s End just affirmed that belief ten-fold. His loyalty and friendship will melt your heart.

Ok, this book made me very angry. Of course I was upset about the things that happen to Henry, they're breathtakingly sad, but even more than that I feel cheated out of a real ending. SPOILER: Literally half the book is dedicated to Henry & Quinn and we get so many details about their relationship and spent so much time with them and it was awesome. But yet when Henry & Seth meet and get together the book just ends and alludes to happy ending. I would've liked to have read about Henry having some hesitation about getting serious again, finally, truly letting Quinn go, maybe Quinn's family has kept in touch and told him it's okay to move on, and maybe instead of a Cody dream he has a dream about Quinn smiling at him with bright eyes, running his fingers down his cheek blessing his new feelings for someone else, telling him he deserves to be happy. I feel like I had so much invested in Quinn that I didn't have time to be invested in Seth. And with the time jump and Henry already over Quinn it felt a little cold to me, we didn't get to see the healing process before time jumped forward. And with Seth being such a small part of the end of this book, he felt crammed in there for good measure. I could have given this book 5 stars all day long if Seth had gotten his proper time, but really he felt like an afterthought, like the author just wanted to be done and wrapped things up as quickly as possible. Disappointing for sure.

The Needing Moore Series is one of my all-time favorites. Julie Richman knows how to write funny, sexy, complex characters that you instantly fall in love with. Henry's End is a wonderful addition to the series. We met Henry in Searching for Moore. He was friends with Mia and then Schooner and I absolutely loved him! You don't see much of him throughout the rest of the series, but something about him, always stuck with me. When I heard he was getting his own story I was so happy! I may have stalked Julie on facebook! Henry's End is an emotional journey of epic proportions. It surpassed my expectations and I think it's some of Julie's best writing! And, this book, just like Searching for Moore, is going to stay with me for years. Henry's story is emotional and heartbreaking as well as heartwarming and funny. We follow Henry on his journey from college boy to man. All along learning what he has been through, good and bad. And the good was so good and the bad was so bad. I cried and cried and cried. I actually had to stop reading because I couldn’t see the words on the page! But, it was so damn good and I was so emotionally invested that I didn't give up! Getting to see Schooner again and knowing that he and Henry remained friends all through and after college just warmed my heart. We also get to see Mia and the other characters and I forgot how much I missed them. Thank you Julie for writing Henry's story. I believe it had to be told and I love you more for it!

Cops. Hot cops. Hot gay cops. Damn you, Schooner Moore. You're going to drag me back into this world by whatever means you see fit.
Thank you.

"I felt like I knew him, and I couldn't understand why he didn't know me."

"I'm addicted to your smile. I'm addicted to your laugh. I'm addicted to the way you tangle your legs with mine when we sleep."
