Review

I found the writing delightful and the plot well researched! The story simply flowed along and I was very happy to flow along with it. I give Her Alaskan Hero a very well deserved 9 out of 10! And I cannot wait for the next book!   ~Cara's Book Boudoir

My favorite part of the book was the colorful, quirky characters that make up the town of Gold Creek and the Forrester family. They really added a nice depth to the book and helped set the stage for Sabrina and Zak's love story.  ~Em & M Books

If you like Alaska, Moose hunting, hot springs, cold weather, sitting in front of a beautiful roaring fireplace, Scrabble, yoga, politicians, paparazzi getting in the way, events with men in tuxedos, mushing, puppies and finding love then this might be for you. ~Kindle & Me

Her Alaskan Hero is the story of two people who are so different that they shouldn't work, but together they fill up the spaces and are perfect for each other. I would not hesitate in recommending this story to anyone who loves romance. ~Marsha @ Keeper Bookshelf

I love fish out of water stories so I was thrilled to find Sabrina and Zak.. Sabrina is a jilted bride looking to build her own life away from family expectations. She is fun, sassy and a clearly a glass half full kind of gal. For her, there's not much in life that can't be solved by yoga or healthy eating. When she winds up in hunky Zak's remote Alaskan lodge, she's clearly out of her comfort zone. But given how smart and kind (not to mention dead sexy) Zak is, she's willing to stick around this small town for a while. For his part, Zak has been hiding out from life and Sabrina is just the one to remind him what's missing. Watching them spar then fall for each other makes this a fun escapist read. And that's just what I want from a romance! I look forward to more in this series about Alaska men finding true love.

OMG I loved this book from the first sentence!! This is my first Rebecca Thomas book and I'll be reading more!!

Our story starts with Sabrina Tate on her wedding day. She's ready to marry the man that she's known practically her whole life. Although, she's not sure she's marrying him for the right reason. Does she really love him or is she marrying him because that's what her parents want? She really wishes she could make her own decisions. But, as a senator's daughter she just takes it all in stride. However, she gets a note from her fiance, Kyle, that he just can't marry her. Her friend, Mel, tells her she needs to get out of town away from everyone, be on her own and do what she wants and suggested Alaska!!

Zak Forrester and his brothers own Forrester's Lodge in Alaska. Their dad died when Zak was 18 and he feels responsible 1-for his dad's death and 2-for the raising of his brothers.

Sabrina shows up at the lodge thinking no one would be there and she could get a room. Who knew the place had no vacancy due to hunting season. There were some sparks from the beginning with her and Zak, even though they were denied. Zak allows her to stay in his brother, Evan's room temporarily. But, what will happen when the hunting trip is over and Evan returns?

Those two have the sweetest love story! Their relationship, for lack of a better word, started slowly with a scrabble game and progressed from there. She has the whole town in love with her, so how can Zak not love her!!

I loved everything about this story...the characters, the story line and a precious puppy to add into the mix! It was a different story line then I've been reading lately and it actually was quite refreshing!!

I really loved the feel of this book, Sabrina Tate is waiting to get married to her longtime boyfriend Kyle because it will make her parents happy and just as she is ready to go down the aisle her bridesmaid comes to the door and takes her to the bathroom for some privacy so she can read the letter sent by her fiancé. He has decided it's for the best that they don't get married and he is not coming. Her bridesmaid Melody suggests she get out of town for a while and go to Alaska to the Forrester lodge, so she sneaks out without telling anyone else and that is exactly what she does. She arrives at the lodge with only the clothes she packed for her honeymoon in Hawaii not to stay in the Alaskan wilderness. At the lodge she meets Zak one of the brothers that owns the place and he explains there is no room but this little blue eyed blonde from California gets to him and he allows her to stay for a little while. Little by little Zak is warming up to Sabrina and when he takes her to town she charms the locals there and pretty soon she is playing scrabble with them and teaching them yoga. Zak knows Sabrina's time is limited so when they finally get together he wants to spend all of his time with her. When everyone comes back from moose hunting Sabrina knows it's time to go home but she doesn't want to leave Zak but they both know she isn't used to his world nor would he be used to hers. Can they ever get back together, does Kyle want to make amends and will Sabrina ever do what she wants?

Sabrina is a good girl! Being the daughter of a State Senator and a movie star, she has done everything her parents want. Including being engaged to the man they want you to marry! But thankfully Sabrina’s fiancé Kyle jilts her at the altar. Which opens her eyes, to what exactly she is doing with her life? So with the help of her friend Melody; whom has a healthy obsession with Alaskan men, she dumps her Hawaii honeymoon and heads to Gold Rush Alaska. But when she gets there things don’t quite go as planned!
Zak Forrester wasn’t expecting anyone at the lodge for a week, so he sure is shock when Sabrina arrives asking for a room. Even though he wants to turn her away from the lodge, he gives her a place to stay. Then he finds excuses to keep her there. But Zak is struggling with his own issues! He feels responsible for the loss of his father, so he has turned into the ultimate responsible brother, for his 3 other brothers. But with Sabrina, he feels light hearted and gives her all his love,
But their time of bliss comes to an end when reporters track her down and responsibility crashes back down on top of Sabrina, so she makes the tough decision to say goodbye to Zak and leaves for LA.
To say I loved this book would quite honestly be an understatement! The connection between Zak and Sabrina is simply magical, but also between Sabrina and the rest of the town of Gold Rush as well!
I honestly love the simplicity of this story. We don’t dive too much into Sabrina’s family life, but more into Sabrina’s struggle at finding herself. The only thing I found a little disappointing was there wasn’t enough back story (in my opinion) on Zak’s brothers. I found the writing delightful and the plot well researched! The story simply flowed along and I was very happy to flow along with it
I give Her Alaskan Hero a very well deserved 9 out of 10! And I cannot wait for the next book!
