That said, for this fifth book, we read about the brother Will that they all find out about in book 2. Life has not gone as he has planned. He got married, wanted a family, but his wife didnt. She got pregnant anyway, and she died after their baby girl was born. Will had huge guilt. He wanted the baby, and his wife died because of it. He thought he was the reason. He spent 8 long years in a depression. He didnt know how to love his little girl. So when Lance's cousin comes back to the Manor to help out there (Jessa, one of Will's sister, was on bed rest), Amy starts to love on the little girl. Who wouldnt love a 6 year old? the girl soaks up the love like a dried up sponge. Will finally came back to earth and realized what he was doing wasn't loving his gift that God gave him. Will began to change. Everyone in the family could tell the difference of Amy's influence. Amy was hesitant about starting anything with Will because she remember Will 8 years ago, and she remembered the love she saw between Will and his first wife. Fear overcame her and I wasn't sure how the story would turn out. I was so happy to keep reading.
If you like Christian Romances that bring 2 broken people together that learn about forgiveness and working thru their problems with God and each other, then this series is for you. They are stand alone books, but if you read in order, the next books picks up where the other ended, but from the next sister's point of view.
I enjoyed how the religious parts were worked into the story in a way that seems natural rather than forced, and kept the characters realistic. I also liked the overall message - that just because something is supposed to be does not mean it will be easy - although I was a little annoyed by how the heroine finally got there.
There was only one thing that really bothered me, and that was how the heroine kept holding on to the fact that she kept holding onto a heartbreak that the person who caused it didn't (and couldn't know) - I got that it was devastating to the 15/16-year old her, but it was carried to an extent that I found a little extreme, especially since the fact that she thinks that the hero is the guy who God intends for her is just thrown out there, and we don't see any buildup - unless maybe it's in the other books. She finally got over it, but I just thought it was a touch over the top, and contributed to my three-star rating.
