I enjoyed how the religious parts were worked into the story in a way that seems natural rather than forced, and kept the characters realistic. I also liked the overall message - that just because something is supposed to be does not mean it will be easy - although I was a little annoyed by how the heroine finally got there.
There was only one thing that really bothered me, and that was how the heroine kept holding on to the fact that she kept holding onto a heartbreak that the person who caused it didn't (and couldn't know) - I got that it was devastating to the 15/16-year old her, but it was carried to an extent that I found a little extreme, especially since the fact that she thinks that the hero is the guy who God intends for her is just thrown out there, and we don't see any buildup - unless maybe it's in the other books. She finally got over it, but I just thought it was a touch over the top, and contributed to my three-star rating.
Book 1: Home Is Where The Heart Is (Violet),
Book 2: Home Away From Home (Laurel),
Book 3: Love Makes A House A Home (Jessa),
Book 4: Long Road Home (Cami),
Book 5: Her Heart, His Home (Will), and
Book 6: Coming Home (Lily).
