I've read quite a few Orc stories the past couple of years. I'm sad to say there are several I did not like--and a few I outright hated. This story, however, was everything I love about Orcs--and virtually nothing I don't.

This is a gorgeous Orc king with a heart of gold, just like their Mountain. His human mate Dawn is courageous and intelligent, quick to release her prejudice when the Orc clan proves themselves honorable and civilized. There's love, treasure, danger, and babies. What more could an Orc-loving girl ask for? ;)

Dawn is a 26 yr old human woman trying to survive alone in a cruel world. Her luck runs out when she is abducted and sold at auction. King Gorvor's orc clan purchases her and shortly thereafter Gorvor realizes she is his fated mate.

While Dawn and Gorvor work to overcome their prejudices they can't seem to deny their lust for each other. Dawn is rather innocent and Gorvor quickly awakens a hunger within her as he teaches her about pleasure and ultimately acceptance. King Gorvor suffers a traumatic past and because of this he is determined to be a gentle and loving mate to Dawn. The author delivers many intimate scenes that are both romantic and sultry.

This story devotes considerable attention to the interactions and banter between the MC's which I appreciate because this truly is a charming duo and I was eager to see them achieve their HEA.

Overall 4 stars for an enjoyable read!

This was actually quite lovely to read. The plot isn’t over complicated or rushed , it’s written well. I like the characters a lot. I do think that there was a bit too much progress in their relationship development early on but you can chalk that up to the mate bond…honestly it’s just refreshing for a healthy relationship to be shown over a priority for smut. The sex scenes are well written and are definitely more romance than kinky but definitely get you flustered. And it’s nice to come across authors who write smoothly and have taken care in what they write.
