While I admired Stacy's goal, I didn't like how her hesitation in finding some kind of middle ground with Tennyson (Ten) regarding their relationship. His business kept him in New Orleans, but hers could take her anywhere. Why not there?
I liked Ten and Stacy's story but wished she was a little less rigid. For all that Ten revealed on their last night together, I thought she would have at least been willing to take that risk and meet him halfway. In a way, I guess she did but it didn't really feel like it. Still, their story is cute and sweet and achieves a happy ending that works for them.
***Received from Bippity Boppity Book for an honest review***
Strangely enough, she runs into Tennyson, a friend of long standing that, if she is desperately honest, she’s always had a bit of a torch for. But his artsy persona and approach to life just serve to highlight the distances between them for her.
There is a bit of jumping around and time skips that take some acclimation, but the solidity of the characters and their connection is clear and present by the end of this story. While I liked One Kiss marginally better, Lisa Fox brings lighthearted fun with characters that feel honest, and have palpable connections. A great choice for a pick-me-up read when the hustle and bustle of the holidays leaves you with the need for escape.
I received an eArc copy of the title from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
Stacy Saunders is a career girl through and through and she won’t let nothing get in her way of reaching her goals. A recent promotion has her travelling to a marketing convention in New Orleans. This takes her back to her younger self when she was struggling to earn a living whilst working towards that dream job. Here she is, years later having reached that dream, looking back with fondness of her time in New Orleans and her last night there with Ten.
Tennyson Landry never left New Orleans after Stacy left. He worked in bars but then turned to his own dream of painting and now finally he has his own studio which is doing great but has he missed out on love? Never having forgotten about Stacy and that passionate night the shared. Imagine his surprise to see her again and still feel that pull towards her.
They both agree to spend time catching up which in turn leads to some serious hot kisses, nights out and no longer able to fight against the one thing they had on that night….
I loved Ten from the start and it was great to have the insight to his POV and what he was feeling. He was a sensual soul you could not stop from falling for. As for Stacy, although I did like her and her strength she did frustrate me at times with her blinkered focus on her career goals. If I had a hot gorgeous man professing his all for me I’d be packing up pronto to move to New Orleans!
This was a great flirty, passionate and thought provoking read with believable connection and chemistry between the two main characters. I loved it and enjoyed it so much I went on to download the first book in the series, One Kiss, to read all about Kat and Dean. Five stars.
Quick easy read. Ten and Stacey had meet up after years apart. after one night of passion she moves to New York to follow her dreams. Ten stayed in New Orleans. She accomplished her goals professionally and was on the rise. She didn't know something was missing until she met Ten again. The story was not long enough for me to really connect with the characters. I understood Stacey's need tbstay focus and follow her dreams. I am glad that she realized there is more. While Stacey was very driven, Ten seemed a little laid back. But eventually her realized he needed more. They get their HEA with very little stress.
It was a perfect read on a Sunday afternoon for cuddling up on the couch. Hope there are more stories like One Kiss and Her Perfect Lips to come.
A great romance to curl up with during a quiet afternoon, maybe with a cup of hot chocolate and in front of the fire. I dare readers not to fall for Ten. He’s an unforgettable hero.
