Loved Aunt Sally, Libby, and Teeny the dog.
It was SUCH a pleasure reading Jade's journey and how she gradually conquers her fear of being outdoors after a traumatic experience she had as a child. LOOOOOVED her character from the start!! She is adorable, kind, compassionate, sweet, and SOOOO good with Teeny after the ENTIRE Sheffield family dislikes the poor untrained dog :)
One of my fave scenes is when Bryan agrees to watch Pride and Prejudice (Keira Knightley version which I loved) with Jade to take her mind off the storm going on, PRICELESS :)
I highly recommend this book just because it's fun, shows the great points about living in a small town (truly fell in love with the setting and the tree with the initials in it---see the wonderful cover), shows two great people who lose touch with their faith and then have the chance to heal from their past, and has other wonderful characters that truly add to the plot in special ways. Will definitely be reading this one again!
Thanks to the author for the review copy provided, this one really blessed me and these are my honest thoughts.
When Bryan Sheffield spots who he describes as a tiny woman who appeared to be praying or chanting or . . . something, the adventure begins. Jade Emerson has signed up for his class — something she really doesn’t want to do, but forces herself to stay.
This is the third book Jill Kemerer has written, apparently in a series, and I can’t wait to read the other two books. Once I have them, I’ll probably read all three in order. This story is so inspiring, I’m looking forward to reading it again — after the other two stories in the series.
I loved this story! I love how Jade makes friends, and learns to lean on others during rough times. And I’d say more about Jade and Bryan, but I’d rather you read their story for yourself.
What does eventually happen? I’ll let you find out for yourself. And if you get the chance, grab the other two books and read them all in order.
Whatever you do, don’t miss out on this wonderful novel.
