A gadget worth having in the kitchen

I am a firm believer in not having lots of useless gadgets in the kitchen, or unnecessary gadgets that simply replicate normal items. But I love to cook and use lots of herbs, so when I saw these scissors at my son-in-law's, I knew they were going to be a staple in my kitchen too. I just received them and used them tonight, but they seem to be sturdy, sharp, and very effective. I like that my herbs were chopped and not mushed as they often are when chopped with a knife. The little cleaning brush seems to work nicely, and the "bonus" stripper (takes the herb leaves off the stems) works as well. I like that they are dishwasher safe, though I think a nice swish through hot soapy water would do the trick usually. They will get a workout in my kitchen, so after I use them a while, I will update my review if I find that this tool is anything but the nice tool I think it is.

Exceptional quality for the price. The blades are sharp and the herb scissors cut my basil, cilantro and mint perfectly. The cover fits great and the comb for cleaning is a great perk! You will be pleased with the quality and workmanship of the product. When i read the reviews of other scissors, people wrote that what they cut got stuck in the blades. It will if you are cutting an herb that is wet - it may get stuck in the blades (or if you just washed the blades). Simply use the comb that is included and you can easily remove the cut herb. I cannot believe the price for the exceptional quality! I see people also use them to shred unwanted mail - I am saving these for "food only". If you are looking for herb scissors, you found them! They also arrived a day early. The scissors are packaged very nicely in a box if you are considering them for a gift.

New favorite kitchen tool

These scissors are something I didn't know I needed but now use often. Great for snipping herbs like basil, cilantro, dill, etc. and also for cutting ribbons for salads using kale, Romaine, spinach or other leafy greens. They clean easily if you rinse right after use. The little extra tools are good for pushing the stray snips out from between the tines/blades and for protecting the scissor blades for storage. I bought all the women in my family some to add to holiday gifts. Highly recommend.

Have used this frequently for 3 years. Still as good as new. Makes short work of mincing fresh herbs. I have given this as a gift many times. One reviewer said that it was hard to clean and dangerously sharp, but the blade shield doubles as a cleaning tool to comb the scissor blades clean.

Handy little scissors for adding that last bit of chives, green onion, parsley or other garnish to a dish. Sometimes, the clippings stick between the blades, but they usually fall out easily using either the included brush or your fingers. Not a necessity, but handy to have.

The blades aren't very sharp (unless you slice your finger right off), and don't do a great job except on delicate herbs like cilantro. I guess I pushed it to a level above its ability, slicing the green tops of Romaine. Perhaps a 2-blade scissor would work better?

This works well for me. The cover keeps the blades sharp. I don’t wash this in a dishwasher because a simple rinse will do. The brush is super helpful, but it so tiny it can be easily lost. It would have been nicer to combine the brush and cover. For that reason I lessened a star.
