This first one: "Ready or Not" was really cute. I liked Aggie. I liked how she handled the guardianship of her nieces and nephews. The grieving, the humor, the way the author portrays real life is exceptional in this novel. Even though there were 8 kids to contend with, the author did a fantastic job of making me know each character individually so there was no confusion. While the book was not a "sit on the edge of your seat" type of book, it was an enjoyable read. The second in the story, the main characters started to annoy me with their holier-than-though attitudes but it was still tolerable.
By the 3rd? I wouldn't even want to be in a room with Aggie or her "mama's boy" boyfriend! They were really getting on my nerves.
Others have commented that the author seems to be preaching to her readers through Aggie and I saw it minimally in the first novel, but by the 3rd, I felt like I'd been hit upside the head. It really took away from the story having all the life lessons and parenting ideas that this author feels I should know. I would consider myself a conservative Christian. I am in full time ministry and homeschool my 4 children. I like the show about the Duggar family. However, unless you want to be "preached" to about the virtues of you adopting a lifestyle similar to that, you might want to pick a different series.
Overall though, I did enjoy reading about all the kids and how their lives played out on a day to day basis. The plot for each book wasn't stunning or twisty, but it was interesting enough to make me feel like I was getting to know the characters and their lifestyle. All the characters are realistic and unique.

I have now completed the Aggie’s inheritance trilogy, and it has been one of the most satisfying series I have ever read. Havig’s books always feature down-to-earth characters who deal with everyday issues, yet she manages to keep things interesting.
My only complaint in this entire series is that Aggie was getting a bit irritating. I think the author wanted to show that motherhood was a real, full time job. She did this by showing how hard it can be. While I do not dispute the fact motherhood is a full time job, I think the author was a little over dramatic at times with how hard she made it.
I loved this book as Aggie and Luke get ready for their wedding. They were such a sweet couple, and I hope we get to read more of their story in a future book. They have fights, petty arguments, and lots of fun together. They truly care for each other and look out for the other one.
As with the other two books, I was impressed with how well the children were done. It is hard when writing about eight kids to give them different personalities, but Havig did.
I highly recommend this whole series to anyone who loves books about everyday people, stories with high moral standards, or anyone looking for a relaxing read.
The characters were engaging and the storyline interesting.
Throughout the book we see The Lord put first in their lives.
I look forward to reading more by this author
I got the first book as one of my Book Bubs. That's bookbub.com, in case you didn't know. Book Bub's has different types of books, and this one is inspirational. I hope everyone will read these Aggie's Inheritance books if you are romantic in the least. Love, love, love this series. I am so pleased, and so happy to have read this series of books.
I got the first one either at a discount or free. I read almost exclusively online now, but I still have boxes of books to reread if I should lose the ability to read online. And I still buy some! If you are considering buying this book, please get the other ones first. In fact, buy all three!
Luke, Tina, and William are an indispensable support system through every trial and storm. Have the tissues ready, the one-year anniversary of the accident rolls around and brings a new wave of grief. There are plenty of funny kid moments and moms will relate to Aggie's full spectrum of emotions.
