This volume concentrates on the UK Charts between the years 1956-1962 and features an eclectic mix of artists and musical genres, from R&B to teen 'rockaballads', from doo-wop to novelty items, from twangy instrumentals to death discs. Juxtaposes million selling No. 1 hits like Ricky Valance's irresistible "Tell Laura I Love Her", B. Bumble & The Stingers' pounding "Nut Rocker" and Jerry Keller's lightly rockin' "Here Comes Summer", alongside half forgotten gems like Hank Levine's haunting "Image", Chet Atkins' infectious "Teensville" and The Blackwell's classy "Love Or Money". More than half of these tracks were originally US hits, so there are a lot of familiar names, although it seems astonishing that American hit makers like Carl Perkins, The Fleetwoods and The Diamonds only ever had one UK hit.
