Let's start with how surprised I am to have found this album 5-6 years after it was released! Richie Havens has done "Here Comes the Sun" a few times in the past ... but like fine wine, he just gets better and better. Better voice, better patience, better timing, better production. His live versions date back to an historically electric performance at Woodstock. And this is no Woodstock, but some nice, moody easy listening. Don't overlook the rest of the album. Though (I am) not a huge fan of Dylan, he is a folk-pop icon of the times (and definitely has had some great moments) ... and Havens has matched his vocal qualities with just the right songs. On a final note, I give this album a one-star demerit for the "Neil Diamond-esque" keyboard production on many of this album's selections.
