Willy Moon wrote, recorded and produced his debut album all with a few tracks being produced by Pulp's Steve Mackey. Like a sculptor effortlessly works his clay into a mold from an ambiguous slab, Moon uses his infectious beats and melodic lyrics to reconstruct the pure sounds of rock n roll that have been deep-frozen in 1965, with a flow that can only be defined as Willy Moon. He does not afford the listener a gray area to meander; rather his choices are decisive and bold, and thus we are better for it.

Bought the CD on Amazon right after first seeing Willy Moon perform live on the Palladia cable TV channel several days ago. Can't believe he's only made one album since 2013. The guy really knows how to bring in the bass and make it funky, my favorite of course is "Yeah Yeah". I kept playing it in my car over and over again just to hear that big boxy, natural sounding kick bass playing through my subs in the trunk.
When was the last time you could crank up big, live arena sounding rock and rhythm & blues music recorded decades ago without it sounding like crap? I never could. I can now with this album.
