Dr. Yoshiki Tanaka is a popular Japanese novelist who is best known for The Heroic Legend of Arslan and Legend of the Galactic Heroes. His works have been known to span across multiple media, including manga, anime, and even musicals.

Hiromu Arakawa is the award-winning artist behind the immesnsely popular Fullmetal Alchemist. In addition to Fullmetal Alchemist, she is also the illustrator/author of Silver Spoons which is currently available as an animated television series in Japan and the United States. Her newest work is as the illustrator of The Heroic Legend of Arslan, a featured title in the same magazine as Attack on Titan.

Having never read/watched Full Metal Alchemist or Silver Spoon I was unprepared for Hiromu Arakawa's incredible art. I absolutely love her art style. This manga is absolutely gorgeous, especially the epic, large scale battles and the action scenes.

I will definitely be following this manga and picking up Fullmetal Alchemist, Vol. 1.

The story is set in a Mythological version of the Persian Empire and is filled to the brim with exciting and vibrant characters already in just these first few chapters. Yoshiki Tanaka's The Heroic Legend of Arslan, promises to be an epic tale that will be hard to put down and impossible to forget.

Arslan kann flüchten und es erweist sich dann im Laufe der Story, in welcher Arslan ein Heer um sich schart und um die Rückeroberung von Pars und die Freiheit seines Vaters kämpft, der Mut und die Größe, welche in dem jungen Prinzen stecken.

Es ist seine Entwicklung in zahlreichen Abenteuern und Kämpfen sehr stimmig dargestellt, so dass hier ein interessanter und liebenswerter Charakter entsteht, den man gerne in den meist spannend gestalteten und sorgfältig gezeichneten Bänden begleitet. Hiromu Arakawa.(Full Metal Alchemist) hat hier eine wirklich zeitlos schöne Geschichte, die in Japan sehr bekannt ist, in einer zeitlos schönen Art umgesetzt. Das Anime dazu ist übrigens auch sehr empfehlenswert.

J'attends la suite avec impatience. Yoshiki Tanaka, à qui l'on doit entre autre Legend of the Galactic Heroes, le Star Wars japonais, est un brillant auteur de fictions. Ici, l'action se déroule dans un monde semblable à la Perse antique où, Arslan, prince héritier, est contraint à la fuite lors d'une guerre qui n'a rien de fortuite. L'histoire, donc, est celle de notre héros, à l'aventure, au milieu des intrigues et des batailles, qui, aidé peu à peu par de brillantes personnalités, doit reprendre son trône, et le mériter.

Les dessins sont bons (par le même qui a dessiné Full Metal Alchimist), le scénario excellent, sans lourdeur et avec un peu d'humour (assez fin). je conseille vivement, de 7 à 77 ans. Un manga très fin où la dignité et l'honneur sont abordés, de même que le fanatisme. L'œuvre est issu de la saga de livres du même auteur (pas traduit aux dernières nouvelles) pour les ados et adultes japonais.
Je vous recommande chaudement cette saga.

I enjoyed the storyline as it it felt a mature read but exciting at the same time with battle scenes etc. The main character was likable and look forward to see how Arslan develops as I am contemplating on buying the full series.
