The Good points in this game are that the graphics are straightforward. The music (though repetitive) is solid and keeps you aware of what's going on. The equipment and money are plentiful. The story is easy to follow, and the novel use of French, Spanish, and German phrases is different.
The Bad is that the AI is not very clever since it sends enemies one at a time or stands its ground letting you either snipe it from a distance or surround it. The Valhalla Gauge can be a real pain in the neck. This special attack meter takes awhile to fill for you, but your enemies can use tactics to fill theirs quite fast. This means if you beat up on one unit too much or it gets enhanced by another they can use a powerful attack to wipe out your unit or cripple it.
The Ugly is that you have to grind a few hours in between the 2nd and 3rd chapters to level up your units. You will see the same sprites and baddies over and over again until the 3rd chapter. After 20+ hours of gameplay after the game ends you have a quest to recover the other 60+ to 70% of the Vaetir arms to complete a pointless quest to save a character in the game.
In summary the game has easy to use mechanics, a decent story, an ok soundtrack that is repetitive, and isn't too expenisve to buy here on Amazon. I would say this is a game that had potential, but it's short story and repetitive mission structure limited the chance for a major epic game. All in all it is a 3 star game and has a reasonable resale value so you can buy it for around $12 with shipping and resell it for around $10 with shipping after you beat it in a few days or weeks.
Overall it's worth a play through though.
