But here's the deal, I grew up loving the hard stale Good and Plenty that came out of the "Choo Choo Charley" boxes, but once I stated buying the 7 ounce bags and got fresh Good and Plenty, I grew to even love it more. Here on Amazon is about as good of a deal as you are likely to find at about $1.40 bag it is less than I can find at even the discount grocery stores where freshness is hit and miss.
Amazon's offering is half the price of our local market, and the product is identical. The candy arrived by FedEx in a sturdy box with another clean, neatly packaged interior Hershey box containing the treasures. The individual G&P boxes (12 total) are in perfect condition with an expiry date 15 months out. Most important, the chewy little morsels of licorice sheathed in crisp white and pink sweetness are quite fresh.
For those who are interested in the ingredients, here’s a list: Sugar, corn syrup, wheat flour, molasses, contains 2% or less of: licorice extract, gum acacia, salt, caramel color, modified cornstarch, artificial color (includes K-carmine and red 40), resinous glaze, anise oil, carnauba wax, artificial flavoring, and sulfur dioxide, as a preservative.

These were fine at the $16 price but now they have jumped well over $20 again. Keeps going up and down. No notice.Published 6 months ago by john
