This the 3rd book I've read from D.C. Rush and I am very excited. The author does an excellent job of capturing nature and the animals that are in our lives. There are excellent lessons for young kids on how they should respect and treat other people. It is also evident that bullies sooner or later, will have to find out the hard way.
I've read this to my son and he loved it, as the pictures make it come alive for him. He loves cats.
This is an exceptional story that actually teaches something to your kids, other than robots and monsters that are mainstream these days.
I would definitely recommend it to parents.

About the Author
We began writing our first children’s book in 2010. Cathy and I would often sit outside watching and feeding the birds. The birds were very clever and fun to watch, especially when the smaller birds kicked seed to the ground for the larger birds. It seemed the birds had some group structure and displayed very effective teamwork. We thought it would be interesting to write a book about a group of birds flying south for the winter. Publishing our first book was only a dream. The finished book sat on our computer hard drive for over a year before being convinced to self-publish. Self-publishing Robby’s Quest for Seed was a difficult decision; however, the birth of our grandson Rylie gave us some added incentive to get the book out there. We decided to dedicate the first book to Rylie. We also thought it would be nice to leave something behind for our children and their children. Since writing and publishing Robby’s Quest for Seed in 2012, we have published three additional books in the series, Robby’s Quest: Ocean Bound, Robby’s Quest: Return of the Cat and Robby’s Quest: Thrills and Chills. Our fifth book, Hershey Learns a Lesson, is a story about a bully cat named Hershey and the life lessons he learns one day. We have also self-published The Adventures of Sammy the Dalmatian and Friends, a story about the love and dedication three dogs have for each other. Cathy and Don currently live in Arizona with their cats, Nomi and Hershey. Cathy is a homemaker and Don is a retired Manufacturing Manager and former Elementary School Governing Board Member.

Hershey is a big, handsome cat, but unfortunately, his beauty is only skin-deep. Inside he is a bully, he loves nothing more than to frighten other animals, and this includes Nomi, an older but very pretty tan coloured cat who lives in the same house.
If you are fans of the Robby’s Quest series of children’s books, you will already have met Hershey, as the villain, a couple of times before, when he terrorises the birds. In this books he’s still up to no good, he even steals poor Nomi’s food, but what can she do, after all, he’s much bigger than her.
It seems as if there is no way to stop Hershey’s reign of terror. However, one-day, Nomi’s friend Tyson comes to play with her. Horrible Hershey spies them, and when he creeps up and scares Tyson, the events which follow, turn the tables on Hershey and change his life forever.
Suddenly, Hershey is scared and needs help. For the first time, he’s no longer in a position to be bully. However, luckily there are nice kind cats, and when Nomi and Tyson discover his problem, they help him and teach him a valuable lesson at the same time.
The author has combined a wonderful story with a clear message, a great book which is beautifully illustrated by Daniela Fongia.

"Hershey Learns A Lesson" is a cute story about Hershey, a handsome black cat. However, Hershey's problem was his attitude. He was a bully. He constantly harassed his friend, Nomi, a much smaller, timid cat. He'd steal her food and be generally nasty. One day Hershey was in trouble. Nomi and her friend, Tyson could have refused to help him. But the choice they made changed Hershey forever. The story has an important lesson. I highly recommend it. Readers are sure to enjoy the bright illustrations, as well as the story.
