My hair is thick and can be somewhat difficult to straighten. I purchased this after buying and returning both a Chi and a Babyliss. Neither worked as efficiently as I would have liked - I don't have time in my mornings to straighten the same pieces over and over. I had super low expectations of this because of the price, but figured it was worth a shot and was pleasantly surprised. I do straighten fairly small sections at one time (same method I used with the others), but the hair is smooth after a single pass. It doesn't feel like it glides through hair as smoothly as others, but the result is much better, so I can deal with it.

Worked well for the first two months, started grabbing at hair and then seemed to short out at 6 months of use. Handle became hot and plates would no longer warm up. One year warranty is useless. You send the flat iron back to the company (you pay shipping) AND send $20 for them to send you a new one...flat iron only cost ~$20.

It really is one of the best straighteners i have ever used, i’ve even preferred this straightener over the CHI.

i have been able to turn hair that is curly, kinky, colored, or damaged (extensions) into silky bone straight hair. If this straightener is unable to straighten someone’s hair.... their hair is unable to be straightened at all. Buy this, its a great investment. When i travel with friends, everyone is happy that i brought “My good straightener” which is of course a 25.00 herstyler made by the Gods.

Better than the “Chi” flat iron. Mine lasted me about 8/9 years. I’ve dropped mine so many times over the years and it still worked for so many years. I’m buying another one because I dropped mine yesterday and it finally broke LOL. I’m sad because now I have to go 7 days without my flat iron (shipping). In high school, the flat iron our cheer coach told us to use was the Chi and we all loved it. When “Herstyler” came out at the mall kiosks, my boyfriend at the time bought me the pink set (flat iron/style wand and the one that looked like anal beads) I never put it in my butt. Anyway when I used it (flat iron) dude it was 100x better than the “chi.” I gave my Chi flat iron away and have stuck with this well into my 30’s. It’s wayyyyyy cheaper than the Chi, lasts a verrrrrry long time, heats up in maybe only a minute and I haven’t had a bad hair day in years. I have curly hair (black/Asian mixed hair) and this works great for me. My mom loves it too and my sister in law loves it. I wasn’t paid for this review (I wish.) I’ve had the black and pink one. The pink one is pretty but over the years, the pink fades from the heat from the hot plates and starts looking ugly. Still works great but ugly af. I like the black one because over time, it still looks new, clean and not burned. I haven’t ordered from this Amazon seller but hopefully my new Herstyler flat iron is still as wonderful as my last one:)

I purchased a herstyler flat iron at a kiosk about 3 years ago. Recently I noticed that the plates on the flat iron had broken. I purchased this flat iron as a replacement. I don't believe the plate is the same as the one on my original flat iron. It had a black glassy surface which slid through your hair as you styled it. Even though the plate is not the same as the original iron this flat iron gets the job done at a great price.

I got this Herstyler on sale at Amazon, so I not only got a first class styler, I saved money doing it ! Whhen I got my hair styled, they used one of these to curl my hair, and i was impressed with how easy it was to use for making curls. I am not great at styling my hair; so having something that is easy to use was important to me.
I watched a few tutorials on using this styler to curl hair, and decided that I needed to get one. They work with either long or short hair, and mine is short, but growing out, so it is ideal.
The herstyler is much easier to use than my curling iron, makes nicer curls that last longer than the one made with the curling iron or hot rollers. You just start at the roots, and then roll it through your hair to the ends, and out comes a nice curl that shapes around your head perfectly.

I bought this flat iron in 2010 and it's still going strong 7 years later! I use this almost daily (only if I'm leaving the house). It takes my frizzy curly hair and turns it silky, board straight. I have bought expensive $160 flat irons, but always go back to my Herstyler. I have dropped it and cracked it, it still works but I am looking at getting another one due to a crack in the ceramic plate after a bad drop. It still works fine though. I hope they are still made just as well as they were in 2010.
