This book was supposed to be a sequel to "Never Again Once More" but it WAS NOT...not to me anyway. This was like a brand new book, introducing new characters and plots that had nothing to do with the old ones. I was not pleased with the book AT ALL!!!
Fancy has a lot of drama and issues, but it was seemingly pointless as it is supposed to read as a sequel. Darius, Jada, Wellington, his sister (all main characters from the 1 books) were non-existent. Wait....Darius did make a brief appearance in the book and at the end. What was that?
I struggled so badly to complete this book. I got no excitement from Morrison's writing style. Fancy was boring. Byron was a dog. It took me almost a month to finish. The worst part about it all was that I could not stop reading and go to another book because I can't stop reading in a middle of a series and pick it back up later or at the next book. Once I start the series, I have to finish it. I got tired of passing by the book on my counter, wanting to read a book but not wanting to read that one. Thus, I skipped a lot of the book....briefly skimming to not miss any crucially important parts. I skimmed through just enough to get the gist of what was going on and kept the pages turning.
I am in a book club, and we agree that this book and her last book were NOT GOOD!! I am going to read "Somebody's Gotta Be On Top" because others in the book club have pushed forward because, they too, need to finish a series they start. They said it gets better than the last, read it!!!
We will see!!!
