I love the fact that Saylor is such a strong character. She could have crumbled when her ex-boyfriend turned out to be such a jerk. And when her best friend decided to be more of a mean girl than friend. But she didn’t. Saylor seems to really want to find out what makes her happy.
Who wouldn’t want Rhett in their lives. He was brought up by a great family that taught him to respect everyone around him. I love the fact that family and friends mean a lot to him.
The secondary characters in this story were so much fun. Rhett’s Grandpa was perfect. Molly and Jack were exactly the type of friends Saylor needed in her life.
I really loved these characters. Kaylee Ryan got the balance perfect between the emotional parts and playful banter. There was great chemistry between all the characters. This was a nice heartwarming story and I can’t wait for what Kaylee has in store for us next.
Hey, Whiskey consumed be from the very first chapter and it did not let me go until I finished the last page.
Saylor's world has been tilted on its axis. With no where to go, no family to depend on, she ends up in a bar, Corner Pocket, going to drink her sorrows away. Molly and Jake are a blessing, offering her a job and a place to stay. Luck, was on her side for once in her life.
Rhett has come to West Virginia to help his grandfather run his distillery while he is ill. He is met with resistance from his grandfather. Their relationship has suffered over the years. He is determined to get the business and his relationship with him back on track. What he doesn’t expect is Saylor and the attraction he has for her.
The chemistry between Rhett and Saylor is intense. They have a pull like no other. Saylor resists him with all she has. Will she be able to keep him at bay? I love the banter between the two and their story left me with all the feels!! This is a definite MUST read and will be on my reread list. Top read of 2017(even though it doesn’t release until 2018).
Rhett who has worked so hard to get where he is left one of his favorite people behind. Now he needs his help but won't ask Rhett for it. Rhett heads back to where his childhood summers were spent. He doesn't get the welcoming reception he hoped so he seeks another friend and meets Saylor(shortstack) instead with a similar reception.
With old and new friends Rhett(Whiskey) and Saylor get thrown together time and again. Saylor isn't so receptive and her sass is in spades. Chemistry can't be denied and even the strongest willed begin to bend. Could this be the turn around they both need to better there lives?
I have read several Kaylee Ryan books and this is my new favorite from her. It has heart, denial, and friendships to family. This is a must read if you love a book with someone who could give up on happy but is too strong willed to truly let go.
I love Rhett, like I want to keep him forever! Seriously! At first you think hmm ...maybe he's going to be jerkish but boom he's this big teddy bear with a big heart. And Saylor is really everything he needs. They are a power couple , each making the other person a little better.
Saylor is this great combination of fierce and vulnerable. The connection these two have jumps off the pages at you. You can just tell from the beginning that they were made for each other. It's a book that makes you feel good, feel HAPPY!
Like with all Kaylee's books what makes me enjoy it so much is the characters don't beat around the bush during conflict. It's like this is our problem let's solve it, not let's wait 5 months to realize I messed up and then fix it. To me that makes this story even more worth reading. Heck Yes to 5 stars! Can't wait for more.
